I need an opinion

Hi everyone,

I have pretty much made up my mind, but I still think I should ask others with more experience what they think. I started in WA a little over a month ago and I am now in training level 3. I have 2 websites and I was going to keep it that way for now, because I do not want to take on too much. Today, however, there was an incident at work (junior high school) where I had to break up a fight between two boys. The aggressor is known for anger issues (this was not the first time, but it was the first violent one... I decided to speak to the boy in private, and I found out that he is close to snapping, he is alone, lost his friends due to his problems, and he has no one to talk to ... I have gone through a similar experience (without the violence) years ago and I feel his pain. I want to help him and I will. This also gave me the idea for a third website, dedicated to people who are going through that, because I know what it's like and I have healed from it (I had a severe burn out two years ago).

My question is: Will this be manageable? Three websites while I am basically still learning so much. I still want to do it, I already wrote content without having set up the site. I just need opinions, advice 😊

Thank you 😊

Just thought I’d chime in with my 2 cents. I’m trying to juggle 2 sites plus work full time. I never dreamed how much work keeping up both sites can be while you are still learning!
Now some people may be more organized and may not need as much time to research and write.
Wishing you luck in your decision!

I started with many and learned the lesson and went back to one but out to two, but no more
Writing content is time-consuming

I often say do one thing and do it properly before branching out.
Pick the best and go for it.

I started with 2 sites like you did, and I wish now that I had only started with one. I am part time though, and if you can devote a lot of time to two sites then it may work for you. As far as adding another, I wouldn't recommend it. You will find that juggling 3 sites will be difficult, full time or part time. The experts say get one site doing well, and then add another if you like. Tom

Hi Christine, it would be a great site for you to undertake. The idea is great. Personally I know I will not be able to undertake three websites. At this time I really think you should continue with what you have and not take on another website. Wish you the best.

Personally, I recommend sticking to one site. Get that one sorted, ranking and earning you money and then focus on others. Running website there are so many moving parts both on site and off site.

Hi Christine,

Not that you're taking a vote, :-) but I agree with Rosana's idea.

As important as the topic is for you (and everybody dealing with similar issues), it's a good idea to keep a journal of some kind so you don't completely lose the passion of the moment which will dilute over time.

But hold off on putting it all on that third website until you get through the overwhelming amount of initial training you are in the middle of. You don't want to burn out again, right? :-)

More power to you!
Joe

I know it's fun to start a new website but really - you may get overwhelmed. Even 2 is a stretch.

If you're doing more than one site then I recommend working on one at a time - so month A is site A, month B is site B and maybe alternate like that - this is much easier than morning - Site A, afternoon site B for example.

What you could do too if you wanted (just giving you options) is start the 3rd site, add 10 articles or so and let it stew in Google for 6 months... then it's there if you want to come back to it later. (much easier to rank after 6 month mark).

Hope this gibberish makes sense :)

Yes, it does 😊 Thank you

At the start and the end of the day, it is all about creating content, it is so easy to create a website within WA, it is keeping the content flowing that can tip many folks over.

In the beginning, it can be good to go with your passion, perhaps number three should be number 1 or 2.

If your energy is heartfelt, it can be amazing how creative we can be. If you are attracted to writing, go with two and put number three on the slow burn, just add content when you feel the urge or get that sense that you need to.

Best wishes Christine.

Thank you. :-)

Ideas are wonderful, but there is a lot to learn at WA in the beginning. I suggest you limit the number of websites until you have mastered the training and all the technical stuff., otherwise, you will be headed for overwhelm.

Yes, I don't want to get overwhelmed. I'll see how much content I can create with this new idea (I'll keep it in notes for now)

I suggest that for now you keep it at 2 websites but write a journal for yourself with notes about how this situation unfolds so that if you want to do a site about it (whatever exactly that would be) later, you have the notes to rely on.

That's a good idea. Thank you!

It came to me partly because I remember you saying in another place on WA that you are a writer by nature.

Yes, I can keep on writing notes and content about this new niche and when I am ready I can create a new website.

I agree. I had thought about 3, but that 3rd is now #1 in content, and 3 well, just waiting until the time is right and that's not now with the challenge going on. Wish you the best in the situation.
Take care,
Bill

Thank you 😊
