I Met a Donkey on Christmas Eve! :-)
First of all, Merry Christmas, even if it's a little late. Concerning Christmas I have always been a friendly Grinch, but not totally averse to it either ;-)
Yesterday I planned to have a nice dinner, accompanied by a bottle of wine, and a good movie + some yummy treats for the furry gang. Neighbors then invited me for Christmas at their house, so I headed over there and spent Christmas Eve with them, their dogs, and a donkey :-)
They adopted a wild donkey and it is now 1 year old. I am not sure how long it has been with them, but it is tame and very friendly. She (it's a girl) was introduced to me and she sniffed my hand and seemed very interested in this new human at her family's house. She even came back a second time :-)
When I went back home later, my dogs were surely fascinated by the interesting scents I brought home ;-) :-)
Wild donkeys often pass by my property but they are very skittish and fear humans. I always talk to them and they know I am not going to harm them, but they still keep their distance. So, when I was able to pet that sweet donkey last night and just spend time with her, for me it was a beautiful experience. My Christmas surprise :-)
Merry Christmas, everyone :-)

I hadn't thought of it that way yet, but I think it's true, it could be a benevolent sign :-)
Fascinating. I wondered at times about getting a donkey or two, when we had llamas, but I think I'm past it now.
Donkeys are very smart and they are so cute, especially when they are young. As babies their fur is very soft, like teddybears. I love donkeys!
Llamas are beautiful animals, I met them when I was in Peru.

What a great story. I think animals instinctively know if we are friendly or not. A fantastic memory for you.

Yes, they do, I also think so.
