I Found Interest in Pinterest and so I Pinterested Myself
I finally did it. Haha, WA, you achieved the impossible. For years I absolutely loathed Pinterest. I hated using it, I hated clicking on those Pins, because it always took forever to get to a website. When the training and several members here kept on mentioning how useful Pinterest was to them, I always had this wall up in me, telling me, "no no no no, I don't like it. I find it an annoying platform", but this other voice kept telling me to get over it and just see if I could get myself to use it again. I tried, but nope ... I pinned blog posts here and there, but I was not consistent.
Every week I write down my goals and plans, and so last week I decided to get started on this Pinterest thing and learn what I could learn. I planned a Pinterest day.
Today was dedicated to Pinterest, all day long!!!! Well, I did publish a blog post this morning and I also left some website comments, but I have been on Pinterest for 4 or 5 hours now. I bit the bullet, learned what I could, also got great advice from Andrew, and bam, I created not one, but two Pinterest business accounts, for two respective websites.
I created my boards, and started pinning, made my profile, created logos for both accounts, and I am turning into Miss Professional here. OK, I still got no followers ... but well, I don't loath Pinterest anymore. I am actually glad that I finally took the plunge and I also got over my dislike, and I must say, although I am exhausted after my 4 or 5 hour Pinterest immersion, I am liking it more now.
Now, I am hungry again. All this WA work makes me hungry every time, lol.
I'm off to eat, and take a well-deserved break in my hammock under my wild cherry tree.

Glad to hear. I've seen quite a few members don't like to use social media even for business purposes. However, Pinterest is more of a search engine than social media. I like to think of it as an image search engine. It's great for visual niches like travel, fashion, and food.

You're right, it is more a search engine than social media. I think that before I had always approached it as social media and that may be the reason why I did not like it.Are you on Pinterest too?
Yes, I am. I have two accounts for two different sites.
Instead of just choosing an image from my posts as I used to do, I use pin templates from Canva to make them more appealing.
I can't get working with Canva. I don't understand Canva very well.

No worries. It used to be hard for me, but once you start messing with it, you'll get the hang. It has a special section to make Pinterest Pins with the standard size. Just select a a template, tweak some colors and add some text. You can look at my Pinterest accounts for examples (btw just pm'ed you).

It's not love yet, but we may be moving in that direction. Pinterest has not seduced me completely, but I am enjoying it more. In time, it could be love, who knows ;-)

I wasn't too fond of Pinterest either. Like you, I took the plunge and I'm writing an article that involves selling on Pinterest. It seems like the help text is piecemeal and doesn't really cover everything thoroughly. I'm learning and am getting more comfortable using the tools. I set up 12 boards and placed pins in all with links to my website. The analytics are showing a stark increase in visitors. Somehow that sea of pins works and sales are actually made through that medium.
