I created two landing pages for the first time today!

And yes, at first, I felt like that guy in the photo, but at the bottom of the mountain, lol. I had no idea how to go about this. I asked a question here but got no response. I had already checked out two tutorials, but I still wasn't sure. So, I thought to just go for it and stop waiting and procrastinating.

I made two landing pages for the same website, one about affiliate marketing and another one about a book I recently published.

I made one with MailerLite and the other one with MailMunch, just to see how much difference it would make.

I still don't know how it works exactly and how my visitors land on those landing pages, but I guess I'll figure it all out as I go.

If anyone has experience with landing pages or any suggestions, this lost girl will be happy to hear them :-)

Hi, Christine,

From what I saw in the comments below, landing pages are related to mailing lists, right?
Not too long ago, I was trying to see how to create a mailing list, but most members told me I shouldn't even bother if my traffic wasn't significant.
Please keep us posted on how your experiment goes. I'd like to try it, too.

Here's my 2 cents worth fyi.
Landing pages are primarily used for collecting contacts, names, emails etc., in order for you to build your LIST. Once you have built your landing pages, you need to drive traffic to them. Obviously, there are many ways to do that, including both free and paid.
I am promoting a couple of landing pages right now, and I am promoting by creating thumbnails, which I then download to YouTube Live Event. Google seems to like YouTube Live Event and tends to rank your downloads higher than even YouTube videos. The beauty of using Live Event is that you don't actually have to create videos, you can just download your thumbnails. (with your link in the description)
I use longtail keywords, and I test to see if can rank for those keywords first before I download my final thumbnails.
I download multiple thumbnails, but only for the keywords I have been able to get on Google page 1, which is surprisingly easy to do.
Using this method does take some time to set up each campaign, but once completed, it's set and forget.
You can also link your landing page through your website(s) for more traffic.

Wow! Thank you! That's great information! I do not understand what you mean by thumbnails. I am thinking of photos,in thumbnail size, but that is not what you mean, is it? I got a bit lost when you mentioned downloading thumbnails to YouTube live events. ;-)
It's obvious I still have a lot to learn about this ;-)

Do a search for anything on Google. Anything that is shown under "Videos" is a thumbnail. Some are actual videos which have a thumbnail as their image, but others are just thumbnails without a video. (which you can download via Live Event.)
If, when loading a video on YouTube, you don't add a thumbnail, YouTube simply takes a screenshot from your video, and makes that the thumbnail. Much better to create a separate thumbnail, which Google and YouTube loves. Lots of thumbnail creation software out there.

Oh ok, now I got it. Thanks! :-)

Building landing pages and creating sales funnel processes is one of the things that stops would be marketers in their tracks but shouldn't be too difficult for those who can already navigate these pages.

Your landing pages will have their own url, for example...

www.myowndomainname.com/landing-page

...so it's that url you would promote in order to get people to "land" on it and carry out whatever your intended action is, fill in email address to get a free download etc.

Well done for having a go Christine, each little aspect you master will get you closer to your goals.

Mark

Thanks Mark! I shared one landing page on Twitter and it got a little interaction, so I will continue with landing pages and learn more as I go :-)

Excellent stuff Christine and good luck with itđź‘Ť

That is awesome you have created a landing page! I haven’t gone that far so I have no experience on it yet. But I think you have to offer something free to attract customers to either sign up or buy your product, you can find out by how many signed up and be able to meet what you promised or offered. Hopefully, someone who have done it will come up with an answer.

I am not offering anything free, although my book costs less than a cup of coffee, ;-) But well, signing up for WA is free, so there's a freebie. I am still learning, I will make more landing pages and probably include bonuses.

A landing page piton by piton. Great landing Christine!

;-) Thanks!
