Build Your Way Up
Yes, build, and keep on building more. Some houses are built fast, and others take time, but they'll also get to their end destination. My building project just came out of a 3 - month hiatus. It stood there, baking in the sun, and I looked at it every day, knowing that I would resume building it.
When my generator started getting problems, I returned it to the store, cashed in the money, went to a nice restaurant with my boyfriend, and used the rest of the money for some expenses, and especially to resume building my house. I wasn't upset when the generator stopped working. I just thought, return it to the store, get your money back and resume building. Yay! And today the workers came and continued the project.
This is just the kitchen. I'm doing it room by room, not the whole house at once. Why do I start with the kitchen and not my room? Well, I love cooking, and I can use my bed in my trailer in the meantime. I can also put a bed in the kitchen until the rest of the house is built, no problem. It's a big, spacious kitchen, just the way I've always wanted it.
So, I am counting on my website to help me build the rest of the house :-)
Sometimes people think of giving up, but building a website takes time, like a house. I started building this room last year, in April 2018. Money issues have pauzed the work more than once. Giving up was never an option. Then I would be stuck with this ugly skeleton of a house that was not going to be, it would stay there as a grim reminder.
Giving up anything leaves you with those ugly "what ifs", those little mind skeletons that keep on poking you with their bony fingers.
No " what ifs", but "I did it" That's what should go through your mind. Even if we make mistakes, at least we did it.
Looking at the walls of my kitchen it reminds me of WA. I am so close.
So close to finishing those walls, getting the roof, and floor done, so close.
I am now so close to finishing level 5 of my training. And I got an email from Kyle this morning welcoming me to Bootcamp :-) That's definitely my next step. Just a moment, Kyle, let me finish lessons 8, 9, and 10, and I'll be right there :-)

I agree 100 percent, building a website and a business does take time. It's not a overnight thing like building a house. Unless it's a prefabricated house, and even with those you still have to install or build some things in it to get it up and running.
Great analogy Christine. I never thought of building a house one room at a time. But it does relate to how we build our online business. Thanks again for sharing.

Over the years I have seen so many building projects that were stopped halfway and then abandoned for years, because the investment and building materials were just too much. I told myself that I would not let that happen to my house, so I decided to focus on building room by room instead of investing in one large building project.
I suppose it is the same when someone takes on too many websites and gets overwhelmed.
Christine, Your story is fascinating and I wish you great success. I grew up in the wilderness area of Southern Oregon. I built rock play forts in terrain like you show..
