Disappointing to Fall in Rank?
Hi Everyone
I was a little sad to see this morning that my WA rank had fallen out of the top 100 for the first time!
But lets face it, our rank here is not a real signal of success in general: it all depends on the reasons for the fall.
When I first joined WA, I went rocketing up the ranks at a crazy speed!
I assume the reason for this is that I was spending many hours a day one WA, going through the training and implementing the lesson, which is exactly the way it should be.
I also spent some time writing blogs here, which gives such great practise in writing when you are writing blogs on your website, and of course I also spent time looking round at all that WA has to offer, and learning from the posts of more experienced members.
My highest rank was 32, which I reached just four months after I had joined.
I must confess that this rather worried me - I was so near to the Ambassador level, and yet as I had never made a website before joining and still had so very much to learn I did not feel that I had the qualifications to become an Ambassador, and I still don't.
It is really great to be able to help other people - that was never my problem, but if I could not really give them the help that they needed then I considered that it was not very helpful just to comment on their problem without being able to offer a proper solution.
So that is one reason why my rank began to fall.
The other reason is that I needed to spend much more time on my website, and in order to do that I had to spend much more time away from WA, both writing posts and learning skills regarding Social Media and other creative skills.
I also love the summer, and go on several holidays during that time. After all, all work and no play..........!!
I have also noticed that it is the case that many of the successful people on WA also fall in rank when they start to devote more time to their businesses and spend less time at WA.
But it is so great to know that WA and this amazing community is always here to offer and provide help whenever it is needed, and I know that as long as I have any websites I will never leave WA - it is the best thing I ever found and I am so very happy that I found it.
So whilst it is great to see your rank go up, there is absolutely no need to worry if it should start to fall, it is all a matter of your priorities.
I should like to thank so very much all the amazing members of WA who inspire and help us all, and I wish you all a great, positive and productive day :)

Agree with you there, Chrissie. Rank not worth a lot if you not learning and working on website. Regards, Chris
Well said, Chrissie. It seems to me that the WA ranking algorithm is designed to mimic the Google SERP system, and another tool for us to learn the ways of successful internet marketing.

I believe that too many people, (especially new members) get allured by having high rankings. They devote too much of their time with this venture instead of what should be the real reason they became members of WA; Learn how to build a profitable online business for themselves.
I totally agree with you Jeff :)
