And Another Thing! Don't Forget To Update Your Email Contact Forms!

I do hope that you have all now managed to complete your compliant Privacy Policy - what a job! Although with Kyle's help it did turn out to be not as complicated as I, for one, was trying to make it!
Ah well, water under the bridge I hope!!
But you may have neglected or forgotten about one more thing that we need to do: that is to make your Contact Forms compliant.
I am talking about the forms which you may have created on your Autoresponder, or maybe on your website using, for example, SumoMe, which you use to collect Emails.
This necessity only dawned on me after I had generated the opt-in box for comments, using the WP GPDR Compliance plugin, as Kyle advised.
I then looked to see if there was the facility to put the same opt-in box on my Contact Forms, but as we saw in Loes"s training on the plugin, they only help you with Contact Form 7, which I don't have on my theme - at least I haven't found it!
Changing the form on your Autoresponder
So I then headed over to my Autoresponder, Aweber in my case.
I was hoping for some kind of Update advice there, but there wasn't any!
So I found the form which I am using and clicked on the editing option.
I am no expert here, but with a little trial and error I found the function to "add a new field" to my Contact Form, where there was also the option to include an opt-in box. There was also the option to place this new field wherever I wished, and I chose to put it at the bottom of the form.
The next thing to do was to decide what wording to use for the opt-in box.
So I headed back to my website to look at the wording which the plugin had used for the comment box, which is:
BY USING THIS FORM YOU AGREE WITH THE STORAGE AND HANDLING OF YOUR DATA BY THIS WEBSITE.
And I decided to use that, and then saved the edit.
I don't know about other Autoresponders, but the beauty of Aweber is that when you edit a Contact Form on their site, the updated form automatically appears on your website, so that you can immediately see what it looks like.
If you are not happy with that, then you can go straight back on tweak it until you are happy with it! in my case, I first used the wording in upper case, as in the above example, but having see it on my site I decided that I would prefer to use lower case.
So, job done!
Rinse and Repeat!
If you have any other forms on your website, you will need to do the same thing there.
I use SumoMe.and I have a bar across the top of my website.
It was a little more difficult to find out how to edit that and add a new field, but I figured it out and added an opt-in box for that too.
I did wonder whether to do a Training on how to do this, but as it is probably something you do rarely, I decided just to blog about it.
But if anyone would like some help with it, then I am more than happy to do a Training for it - just let me know :)
Anyway, please forgive me if you are all up to date with all this, but I thought that maybe some people would benefit from a timely reminder on this, the last day before we must be compliant!

I use aweber as well here's the two things I added to my optin form:
This is just belwo the form fields:

(my domain name went here) will use the email address you provide through this form to provide you access to my free mini course as well as occasional business updates, and maybe even special offers. Sound good? (If you don't agree, you cannot proceed.)
And then below my submit button I added this:
If you change your mind at any time, just click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email you receive from me. Your information is safe and it won’t be shared with anyone.
I use Aweber as my marketing automation platform. By clicking above to submit this form, you acknowledge that the information you provide will be transferred to Aweber for processing in accordance with their privacy policy and terms.
And I also have active links to Awebers privacy policy and terms.

I wonder if you have done what I did at first, and not seen the button to turn it on? And then save your settings of course.

Thank you! One more question...is it supposed to show up above the comment box? That's where mine landed, but I noticed other people are creating a separate page. So confusing!
