If I transfer my existing domain/website through to WA, does WA now have any ownership over the content of the site? What I one day eventually cancel my membership with WA, what
If you have your own domain, that is your own property, not Wealthy Affiliates. If you choose to cancel your membership at any time, you would have 30 days to find another host for your website(s) so that you don't lose them.
Oh okay, the only thing is though I already subscribed to 3 years of hosting through HostGator and paid for it, so I wouldn't really want to have to switch hosting services. I'm thinking maybe just starting a second website for that reason?
I understand what you're saying. It would make sense to start a new site here then. If you build a site here, then purchase your own domain, and happen to leave WA, you would have to move it to HostGator (or wherever else you choose) within the 30 days. Hope that makes sense. :)
Cool, sounds good. Yeah I didn't get very far with the other one anyway so I will choose a different type of theme with that one that's less reliant on affiliate marketing I'm thinking. Thanks Michelle!

BTW if you have 3 years of hosting with HG you can just keep your sites there. No reason to move them to WA. You can if you want...HG gives refunds for unused time, but it's a choice.
Also, WA doesn't claim any ownership over your domain or content.
