3rd Sale This Month
Yay! Have I finally worked out what to do? Is it just a fluke? Can I stop holding my breath now? I am nearly blue in the face from waiting expectantly for results.
I think I'm approaching the time where I need to start getting more clever with my tracking. Up 'til now I've used the blunderbuss approach, following my own rule of "get the traffic first, then start tracking and measuring".
Meanwhile, it's a thumping great "thank you" to WA for pointing out the correct path, and enabling me to purge out the errors in my previous thinking.
Onward and upward? I sincerely hope so.

Congrats Chris! I am like you as well. I am focusing just on trying to get traffic right now. I will deal with the analysis part when the time comes.
Yeah there's no point spending hours analysing where your one single visitor came from. The answer won't enable sound decision making. My rule is you need four figures before you can rule out random events.
Thanks Chris. Quick question, what do you mean by needing four figures before ruling out random events?
If you advertise in 10 places, and you get one visitor from one of those places, does that mean you should scrap the other 9 places because they are not delivering?
What if that's the only visitor you will ever get from that source, but the other sources will deliver, in torrents, tomorrow or next week?
One visitor is not enough information on which to make that judgement. Even if you get 10 visitors, or 100, any percentage calculation is going to be seriously distorted by random events like
a) do you get more visitors during school holidays?
b) did one of the sources have a server outage for a few days?
c) did another marketing company run a campaign at the same time as yours?
d) was there a pre-Christmas sale on somewhere?
e) etc, etc
It's not until you have a solid flow of visitors, getting up towards 1,000 or more, over an extended period of weeks, that you can make any meaningful assessment of what works and what doesn't.
Thanks for getting back to me. I figured that is what you meant, but wasn't sure if maybe by four figures you were talking about the money the site is bringing in. I am still a long ways away for bringing in 4 figures a month.
How exciting!! I'm sure you have a great feeling of accomplishment and as well you should.
Have a great day Chris..
Well done, how long have you been on WA to make those sales? I'm half way through course 5 and been on here 3 months.
That's a hard question, as explained in Hate Forced Upgrades Plus the sales relate to sites I owned before I joined WA, but did not really know how to promote properly.
Hi Chris.I don't want to pass a passive comment like congrats good job that kind of stuff.haha.its not surprising with your knowledge you are where you are and even better in the future.
All comments are gratefully received, passive or otherwise. It's all "engagement" and counts toward the stats.
As they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity.
I was born in Penang, not too far away from you. But my parents came to UK when I was only 6 months old, so I don't have any memories of it.
Thanks. I'm sure it would've happened a lot earlier if I were not so laid back and lazy, but what the heck, you have to be true to yourself don't you.

Great stuff ! Keep up the good work! Congrats
On the basis of "the more you do of what you are doing, the more you'll get of what you are getting" I will certainly keep it up.
Well said :) so true
