Hey folks,
Years ago, I tried using a plugin to expire posts, but it didn't work well.
I'm wondering if anyone currently uses any plugins to expire posts/pages su
I have not used it personally however I do know the plugin has some positive feedback, if you have a test site perhaps you can try it out
Yeah, saw mostly positive feedback.
It uses cron jobs so I couldn't use it on any site hosted here. It's mostly for one local site that I have.
I'll probably just test it out when the time comes and go from there. :)
Thanks.
Thanks. We'll see. If it works, it works. If not, oh well. :)
I try to pick plugins that have been around for a while with a substantial amount of downloads and updated relatively recently.
Although it hasn't been updated in 9 months, it does have nearly 200,000 downloads and gets a steady amount of downloads weekly.
Why expire a post? If you don't want it on the site anymore, it'd be better to 301 it to a new, similar post , if it's indexed by Google.
Flash sales, seasonal sales. or a number of other situations where something is time sensitive and should be pulled when it becomes inaccurate.
It's not for content designed for SEO and ranking, but for short term items.
