Hi, I just did a review on Jaaxy and wouldn't mind some honest feedback/comments.

Hi mate, this is the correct place to post links to your reviews (not here in your blogs): Cheers!

One of the niches I have chosen doesn't seem to have many good affiliate programs. Should I consider choosing a different niche that offers better affiliate programs?

There's always something you can do. It just might not be obvious at the moment. What do other sites in the niche do. Look at how those at the top of Page 1 make money.

If you chose the niche originally because it;s something you are interested in / know a lot about / can write good content about etc then I'd keep it going.

Once your site starts to get visitors then you might find that there are other avenues to make money from the site.

But if you just randomly chose a niche & it's a bit boring coming up with articles then I'd ditch it and start another - with the criteria being a) it's something that interests you & b) you can google the main keywords associated with the site and find affiliate programs and other sites in this niche.

Thanks. My niche focuses on how to speak Japanese as I live in Japan and speak Japanese, so it is something that I am interested in. I'll take your advice and have a more in-depth look at how other sites in this niche are making money. I agree that it's not good to choose a niche based simply on the fact that it is potentially more lucrative.

Also look at other sites that make money out of people wanting to learn other languages which aren't often learnt by westerners. Eg Chinese / Thai / Indonesian etc. See what they're doing.

You could focus on businessmen wanting to impress their hosts with basic Japanese. Or tourists who want to get to know their way around and need to know how to translate signs & figure out what they mean.

Make your own simple email courses or sign people up for language learning tips that go along with a pre-existing course. They buy a book on Amazon. You provide weekly tips or practical examples of how they can use the language they;ve learnt. Or add any additional info you think the course lacks.

Offer advice for expats moving to Japan, they'll have money to burn to pay for a guide on how to handle the first month's culture shock & language difficulties etc

Thanks again for the great advice. I'll definitely take some of your advice on board, cheers.
