Are ClickBank Passing Up My Commission?

Hi Guys; So just over a year now on WA. Just before I joined I was on blogger for 2-3 weeks I think it was and it was during this time I made my first commission with Clickbank. $150 in my first week of starting my blog. I made something like $450 in my first six weeks.

Not sure what went wrong from there. I made something like 3 measly commissions since. 1 in April. Another in July (I think) and my last one 27th December.

Ever since I have been checking regularly - nothing, nothing and nothing but last month one day. I swear on every holy book there is I looked and it was showing almost 2k in sales. Wish I could have taken a screenshot because I refreshed the screen and it was all gone.

Felt like I was going mad. I spoke to ClickSkank and they said - they didn't know what I was going on about. Could have gone somewhere nice at the time. Maybe Antigua or Mexico lol - but I just thought OK I couldn't prove anything so that was that.

Now, fast forward to yesterday the 10th of February 2021 and Hoorah! I have made 5 sales, or so I thought! 😟 - same thing really but this time I took a screenshot;

Not sure if you can see but it shows commissions for $30.33, $8.72, $21.06, $30.49 and $21.06 again. Basically, $110 almost plus I have $25 that I can't withdraw till I get more sales.

So, I have messaged ClickSkank (ClickBank) and they have just got back now.

"Sorry, sir this is what happens when someone checks out with PayPal and then the payment gets declined".

Seriously, all of a sudden I make a few sales and PayPal rejects every single one of them.
It must have been the same as the $1900 that was showing on my account in January that just disappeared.

And this is the one's I know about. I can't help thinking about how many conversions I've had that I never even knew of.

Although, It's not been too much of a bad thing to be fair as it has spurred me on to keep going but wow I am seriously thinking there must be a mistake or something with my account. What a tease -

I have asked Clickbank to investigate further. I see something about linking my PayPal - maybe this is why but it should not be a problem surely. Or could it be?

If anyone has any ideas I'm all 👂s

Yeah, I have a few ideas after 20 years of experience with Clickbank and other networks. Honestly, some of products sold on Clickbank often appeal to people who might use fraudulent Paypal accounts or try to figure out ways to get something for free. After all, once the digital download is delivered, how do you claw it back if the payment bounces; you can't.

The other scenario could be that the merchant went out of business and disappeared before paying all the pending commissions. Last time I checked Clickbank did not have anything in place to ensure you got paid by a merchant who went bankrupt.

Sorry, but I've seen both scenarios many, many times.

Wow, Alex! I hope you get this issue solved!

Yes, fingers crossed. I don't really mind passing up these commissions but if there is a chance I can stop it happening again I'm hoping it might mean I can get some new commissions.

I'm hoping that all of the mess gets sorted for you in a positive way, Alex!

Jeff🙏

If you are not linked to paypal through Clickbank, payment can't go through. If paypal rejected the payment, the vendor would not get payment. You are right to ask clickbank to check it out. Make sure your paypal account is correct and linked. I sure hope you get this straightened out.

I am hoping this is the case but will see. Thanks for commenting.

It sounds like what they're saying regarding PayPal is that there were instances where someone started to purchase a product you're promoting, but then their payment got declined. So, in other words, there was no sale and because of that there was no conversion nor commission. Odd that it would happen multiple times like that. Maybe bots. Who knows.

Yes, I know. Will see what they say I guess. Maybe I need to link PayPal with them.

It wouldn’t have anything to do with your end though. If I click on your link to purchase one of the products you’re promoting, and I’m paying through PayPal, but then my payment is declined because I don’t have the funds, then your commission that was so close to happening doesn’t happen. It’s not anything on your end.

That all sounds weird. If you have earned it they should not have any right to withhold it, or cancel it.

Yes, I know right.
