Techradar Alert

I recently received an email from Techradar as I use it for findng out information regarding my website about books and the different ways in which we can use to read nowadays. One of the items mentioned was about Amazon's Prime Day.

Date Leaked Early

According to a banner that Techradar discovered which was published for the 2018 Prime Day on the UK website for Amazon (surely by mistake), it was stated that the Prime day will be Tuesday 17th July 2018, with the deals coming into effect from noon the day before on Monday 16th July

The time period for the 2018 Prime Day will last 36 hours and this makes it the longest one ever. This exceeds the 30-hour period from last year which had begun at 9pm the night before as well as breaking with the recent tradition of Amazon having their Prime Day always on July's second Tuesday.

Techradar had originally predicted that the 2018 Prime Day would take play over the 10th and 11th July but seeing as they are the days for the World Cup semi-finals and with the final set for the 15th July, it is only natural that Amazon would be making sure that they missed these dates and this then leaves them the 16th and 17th as the perfect dates.

Now providing that this has not been set up as a practical joke from the Design Team then the dates above are for Amazon's UK Prime Day, However, there is likely to be marginal differences in the exact times between the UK and the US because of the mutliple time zones within the US.

As the US Prime Day began at 9pm Eastern / 6pm Pacific and then ended at midnight Pacific time last year it has been predicted that Amazon's US Prime Day will begin at noon on the 16th EST and will run right through till midnight on the 17th PST. This means therefore that the US 2018 Prime Day would run for 39 hours in total.

The kinds of deals you can expect are a subscriptiont drive for Amazon Prime in the days and weeks in the lead up to the 2018 Prime Day. As the deals for the Prime Day are exclusively available just for Prime customers, you will tend to find that Amazon, in the days before will run a recruitment drive with a £20/$20 discount on the price of the subscription providing you are not already a Prime member. Unfortunately, you will probably find that if you are already a Prime member then you will be out of luck.

You will find that the deals for the Prime Day will evidently include considerable discounts on devices like Amazon's Echo; Echo Dot; Tablets; Kindles and also the Fire TV Stick. Amazon have recurring times during the year when there are already discounts on items such as these so there is every chance at come Prime Day, they will haul out their lowest prices ever on some if not all of the items. Look out as well for some very tempting offers on other services from Amazon such as Kindle Unlimited or Music Unlimited or even Audible.

As well as all theis, it is also expected from Techradar that the sellers of the Amazon Marketplace will be participating in a big way this year. Since the first Prime Day in 2015, the Marketplace retailers have been included and this year it is being forecasted that they could have some of the better and exciting deals on items from every product category that is available on the site such as 4K TVs (alert for post World Cup firesale) as well as games consoles plus laptops; beer and wine; sports and camping plus fashion and baby products.

Bookmark Techradar's Prime Day hub and make sure that you don't miss out on any of the best deals on Prime Day. They will be working flat out round the clock looking for what are appearing to be the best discounts on the best products.

Hopefully this won't have been a joke and we can look forward to this day and being able to get some good discounts as well as being able to use our affiliate links to our advantage.

Enjoy the rest of the week everyone.

Interesting

Thanks for the info, Cheryl. I don't shop online due to concerns for the privacy of my credit card numbers, but I'm sure these sales are going to be through the roof. It might inspire me to get a prepaid credit card that would be safe to use because they could have the numbers and it wouldn't do them any good once I use the card up! Carol
