Twenty Nine Years Ago Today
I walked up the aisle and said "I Do" to Davie. We had a great day with lots of family and friends.
It has been a very quick 29 years and we have had a lot of good things happen but we have also had some rotten things. These things however have made us stronger together.
The image above shows Davie and I cutting our wedding cake - or trying to cut it. It was not an easy job believe me as the woman who baked the cake had not put glycerin in the icing so it was brick hard. We landed up having to use my uncles skean dhu to break the icing so we could get the knive in to cut the cake.
The funniest thing was, my mum used to tell us not to let the cat into the room where the cake was in case she squashed the cake, she could have danced on the cake and not even make a dent in it lol.
Twenty nine years together gives us a lot of great memories such as holidays along with other things like attending weddings of friends and families, school Christmas shows, the births of our daughter and then twin boys, our daughter's graduation, getting our cats and dog as well as watching Gavin in shows through Uni and Hayley in shows with Captivate who were an excellent drama group.
Hopefully the next 29 years will be just as good, if not even better. I have a trip to make to NY for a Happy Hour, a trip to California to go camping with Randy (Doubletap) and Patty in their RV and a trip to South Africa to stay with Lauren when she gets her spare room set up lol.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone and have a great week ahead.

Thank you very much Gail, it certainly is a milestone, I would have got less time for murder lol. xxxx
LOL. Well, I've been single for about 20 years so I'm catching you up. Not sure there's an anniversary for that though! :)
Yes - I'm sure there are a few boys out there who can celebrate 20 years of a lucky escape!! :)
What a beautiful bride! And Davie so handsome in his kilt! So that's why you told me how great guys look in kilts when we first started communicating!
Congrats on your first 29, your great family, and here's to 29 or more great ones as well!
Carol
Thank you Carol and that is exactly why I said guys look great in kilts lol. Whether they are true scots is a different thing altogether lol.
You are very welcome Carol and hope you are doing well. xxxx
I knew it, and from the looks of him, I'd guess Davie is a true Scotsman! Two of my mother's first cousins and one of their sons came to visit me from Iowa last week. Went home today. Had a wonderful time. Haven't laughed that much in ages. Good for the soul!
I have most of the painting finished now and need to get that finished and then focus on getting my yard in shape. We had so much rain I couldn't get outside and cut the grass and weeds.
I have a fairy garden that I want to put out to enhance the charm of my home for prospective buyers as well. I brought it all in last fall so the winter wouldn't be hard on it. Planning to write a post about it when I get it finished and some pics taken.
Have a great week, and don't drink too much champagne tonight!.

Congratulations Cheryl, and the best wishes for the next 29 years and even longer with more happiness to come!
Congratulations. I love the icing on the cake story... all weddings need something to look back on and have a giggle about.
Wishing you many more years of happiness.
With Grace and Gratitude
