Nashville
As I was up early this morning, I have been catching up with Nashville which I really enjoy and for some reason the news article I heard last night on the death of Glen Campbell came to mind.
Another great singer taken but I was sad to hear that he had been suffering from alzheimers. There is one of Glen's songs that I will always associate with my husband Davie and that is Rhinestone Cowboy. This was one of Davie's party pieces when he was ever asked to sing along with He Aint Heavy. I always remember him singing Rhinestone Cowboy up on stage with the band at our wedding reception and everybody joining in at the chorus.
I have just read that although Glen was diagnosed with alzheimers in 2011 he still went on and released an album as well as following it up with a tour.
Here is a link to his song Rhinestone Cowboy.

I remember my parents listening to Glen Cambell, and that song especially!! I will always have a love for everything country music, and especially Nashville, my favorite place in the world, and although I'm Canadian, Nashville has been the only place that has ever felt like home to me!! :)
I was the same Terry, my dad listened to him among many other artists. I like country music and he was one I really liked listening to as his music is so easy listening. Isn't it funny that there is always that one place we find that feels so much like home to us. xx
Good afternoon Cheryl,
Yes, I also know this song, very nice.
As we get older more and more people are leaving and we are left with our memories.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
Afternoon to you too Taetske
I always remember Rhinestone Cowboy as the song from the wedding although Davie (hubby) has also sang it in other places. I think because of the significance it had to our special day.
You are right though, we do lose more and more people and are therefore left with our memories of them and the good times that we have spent together.
For stars though, 2016 was one of the worst years as there was so many great people died in a short time.
Enjoy the rest of your day. xx
It is one song that I do enjoy listening to regardless of where I am as his songs were very easy to listen to. xx
They definitely are Jimmy. My daughter is a trained singer and that is one of the things I love about listening to her sing is because she pronounces every word of the song so it is very clear to hear what she is singing. xx
That's also what I really want in a song. Lyrics are very important because that's the medium of your message so it must be clearly delivered to every ear.
I always remind the youth choir to sing as vivid as they should by over-emphasis because we are Filipinos and we have an accent that often times can't be easily understood.
I agree with you there Jimmy and there is nothing nicer than hearing someone properly pronouncing words when they are singing. xx
I was sad to hear the news when it came on last night---I remember when he announced he was retiring because he had Alzheimer's so in a way, he's now in a better place. My neighbor's mother had the same thing and passed away last November and I remember Maria saying how she had prayed to g-d to take her mother because she was suffering so
I know Davida, it was sad to hear. One of my mother-in-laws cousins has just recently had to put her husband in a nursing home because he has alzheimers and although she had said she would always look after him it was such a shame as it just got too much for her. I think she felt like she had failed him at first but she had to think of herself as well. xx
You are welcome Bobby. I thought everyone would have known by the time I put this blog up. I can't ever remember seeing him in an acting role but I may have, I loved listening to his music though.
I have heard of easy listening country music and his music certainly was definitely easy listening. xx

It was sad to hear that last night Randy and I got to hear a good lot of his songs when I was younger as well. xx
