Have You Heard Of This?

I am writing this blog today to quickly ask a question.

I keep receiving messages telling me that I have had money left for me either at PayPal or Western Union. It is always different amounts but when I check to see who it is from the same name always pops up.

I am curious to know if anyone here has heard of something or someone who goes by the name of beneguy. Obviously that is a website but not much on it and when you check it to see if it's a scam, it comes back saying it is 76% safe which I think is strange.

Above is the type of message you receive although there are others which are just text.

I do not want to put up the link to the website here but if anyone wants to check it out for me to see what they think then please drop me a private message.

I personally do think it is a scam in that I think they are trying to get your details for PayPal or Western Union.

I have just ignored the messages up till now but just wondered if anyone else had heard of this or even used it in the past.

Well folks, here we are at the last week of yet another month and ONLY 101 days till

Just thought I would cheer you all up lol.

Anyway, everyone enjoy what is left of your weekend and

Certainly sounds like a scam Cheryl

Derek

Thanks Derek, I thought that myself then when I checked the website and it said it was 76% safe, I was rather wary. I have never opened any of the messages, I just delete them when I get them. I really just was curious to see if anyone had heard of the domain as I know I hadn't.

Hope you are doing well. xxxx

Sounds like a scam.

Thanks Linda, I did think that myself. I have never opened anything as I gathered they are just after my details. xxxx

Best way. If in doubt click on the report spam button on your email. I assume all email has that, I know my gmail does.

SCAM!!!. These guys are so clever. Be careful Cheryl. Have a great Sunday.

Thanks Rika, I had a good idea that it was probably a scam and they were after my details. I have never replied to any of them and never will. You have a great Sunday too. xxxx

Hi Cheryl. If you aren't expecting any payments that size then it's a scam. Jim

Thanks Jim, I kind of thought that anyway but just wondered if anyone had heard of it. xxxx

It's a scam. It is just like someone telling you you've won a lottery. You can't win a lottery unless you entered the contest. I had someone last month telling me I had won the powerball lottery. Well, I never bought a lottery ticket for that drawing so it was impossible for me to win. A scam. Don't give them any of your personal information.

I had a good idea that it was a scam and that they were just after my details. After just being scammed out of a lot of money and hoping the police maybe able to get it back for us, I am certainly not going back down that path again.

I haven't opened them or given them anything. xxxx

It's a scam. I agree with Edwin.

Thank you, I did think myself that it had to be a scam but just wondered if anyone else had heard of it. xxxx

I agree with Edwin and say the same

Hi Dave, hoping you are well and haven't spoken to you for ages.

I did think myself that it was a scam but wondered if anyone within WA had heard of it. xxxx

If any unknown entity wants to reward you with money and all you have to do is to provide them with details of your account, disregard them. Do not even open the email or website they send you. It is easy to make an Email appear legit. Click the Email senders details and you will soon find out the part before the @ sign appears legit, but the part after the @ sign has suspicious letters and numbers that signify a scam Email address.

If an offer appears too good to be true it usually is.

Just be careful. I subscribe to a identity theft plan to protect me if anything bad happens.

Cheers.

Edwin

Thanks Edwin, I haven't opened anything or given them any information. I had thought myself that it cannot be real and had to be a scam to get your details.

I just wondered if there was anyone within WA who maybe had heard of or encountered this as well hence the reason I asked the question. xxxx

Fraud… always ignore those. There has been and are a lot of those campaigns going on all the time… never click on anything, and get rid of it right away! They appear in all kinds of forms… so, block them and get rid of it all…

If you want to know how much in your PayPal account… log in and check it the "regular way".

Wish you a great day!

arthur

Thanks Arthur, I thought so myself but was just wondering if anyone else had heard of the website as it seemed a strange one. I think they were looking to get my PayPal details which they can forget all about.

I know how much is in my account and lets just say they would need to put money in to get anything out at the minute lol.

You are welcome and now following you here at WA. xxxxx

Hi Cheryl, Pay Pal is pretty transparent, money out notifications sent money in notifications sent.

If you are on a email list and someone sends an email like this, usually only one thing happens if you take the bait.

Pay Pal will notify you that money has left your account or your associated credit card has been charged.

Just realized today, Christmas is on the horizon and black Friday and cyber Monday are at the edge of the city rapidly making their way to the CBD.

So much to do starting to feel like the mad hatter.

Hi Alexander, I agree and did think that they can only be after my details which they ain't getting so they can forget all about it.

I know what you mean, I had to check what month we were on the other day when I read something about Black Friday. I thought I had fell asleep and missed time. Yes it's scary how quickly the weeks are going in.

Just take it one day at a time and you will get there. xxxx
