My Mantra

I was currently reading a document which had a line at the end of it which I liked and as it was suggested by the writer to make this our Mantra, I decided that I would make it mine. I have used it as the background on my computer so that I say it to myself everytime I turn the laptop on.

Below is my Mantra, I do not have it set up like this, I just have the words over the middle of the screen but I intend to change to this one.

Why Have A Mantra

Having a Mantra can be a good idea as if you are having a hard time where you can't get motivated, focused or even just staying positive is proving too much which in turn is making you feel powerless, insecure and rather frustrated, simply repeating your Mantra over and over two or three times (either out loud or in your head) can be just what you need to boost your va va voom and get you back on track.

Display Your Mantra

Once you have created your Mantra then why not use post-it-notes, write it down on a post-it and then stick them everywhere you can see them and as you pass them say your Mantra to yourself. Yoy can put them in your car, on your fridge, on your mirrors and anywhere else you want to.

I am surprised how much my own one makes me think about things when I repeat it to myself. It really makes me think about how much it is up to me if I was things to work out for me. Nobody else can do it for me.

The Best Mantras

It is said that the best Mantras are

Some Mantra Ideas

I have given you some ideas that you can use if you decide you want to create your own Mantra.

  • Progress not Perfection.
  • I trust me.
  • Inhale confidence, exhale doubt.
  • Repeat after me - I can do this.

Have a great weekend everyone and

Sounds great. Nice photo by the way. This one is my favourite so far.

You are welcome Glenys, thank you. That photo was taken just before a christmas night out in 2016, I like it too. xxx

I like your mantra, Cheryl. I actually heard that same mantra from a speaker at an Amway Weekend about forty years ago. His name was Robert Schuller.

It certainly is true though. No one is going to do this for us. We only succeed if we take action and take it every day.

One that I heard when I first started here was "If nothing ever changes, nothing ever changes"

Moving Forward,
Wayne

Thanks very much Wayne, I liked the one I have but that is also a good one too and very true as well. xxx

I chant my Mantras several times a day and the one I use more often than most is:

“Just one more cookie”, did I mean coffee, so “Just one more cookie and one more coffee”

and the other one is:

“more cereal Wayne, oh yes please”

These are really building my confidence!

I do have a Mantra app on my phone though. Not used for a while.

You feeling ok? Got rid of the sore throat?

Wayne

Hello Wayne, feeling a bit better, throat ok when I first get up but as the day goes on it gets worse, think it’s more to do with the coughing though.

Yes I can just imagine that being your mantras lol, can see you sitting at Daisy thinking about it then saying the mantra out loud so that someone is hopefully listening and will go and get you a coffee and a cookie or two. Xxx

Sitting with Daisy, rather than 'at', the relationship is moving on, a kind of respect is forming - bless her!

Good to hear you feeling a little better, mine lasted for two weeks, very annoying.

Happy Sunday!

Wayne

As we would say here in Scotland, oh aye, so you are past the "at" stage now and are at the sitting "with" Daisy, who respects who more lol.

Getting there but I think I spent most of last night coughing which was not nice and has now worn me out so I am feeling shattered now.

Have a great Sunday too Wayne.

Speak later. xxxx

Rest easy there Chez! I just eat and at bursting point!!!

to much talk of chocolate in this thread!

Take care

Wayne

Hope you went for a walk afterwards to walk it off. I am just chilling at the moment. Enjoying the sunshine for a change. Xxx

BTW, my reply was not at all related to anything pertaining to WA. : )

Don't worry about it Cathy, I never even gave that a thought lol. xxx

Hi Cheryl,

So GLAD to see that you are feeling better!

Awww Cathy sorry to hear that you are experiencing the nastiness of people who are also miserable.

If people are going to be like that, why don't they just keep themselves to themselves and leave others alone. There is no need for people to be nasty to others.

That is the unfortunate thing Cathy, we can't change others but as you say we can choose to be happy. Sometimes that sticks in the throat of the person who is being nasty as they want you to be miserable like they and if they see you happy then it gets to them more.

If you ever want or need to talk just send me a pm. Don't let them get you down, they are not worth it. xxxx

Thank you so much, my friend! : ) I really appreciate that!!

Yes, having to deal with unpleasant individuals is not the most fun thing to do -- but it happens. I don't let them get me down for long, though. : )

I thank you for your encouragement! Hope you are doing very well!

Blessings and hugs,
Cathy

Hi Cathy,

I meant to reply to this yesterday and it kept disappearing again.

You are very welcome and yes it is not nice have to deal with unpleasant people but as you say, sometimes it can't be avoided and we can so easily let them bring us down. As long as we can pick ourselves up again though, that is the main thing. We don't want to let these kind of people keep us down.

I am always there to give people encouragement and support and help when they need it.

Blessing and hugs back to you Cathy. xxxx

Great post I really like what you said because that is interesting. Maybe that is what I should do is repeat everything in my head and to give me the confidence I need to proceed with this business. I know that I can do this but I am having a hard time thinking of more content to right that is where my problem lays right now. Any ideas I am listening.

Mary

Hi Mary, we haven't be introduced, however I needed to say, "get it outa your head & speak it" Nothing is ever done "in the head" it has to progress to speak, plan & do. Recite your thoughts & feelings to someone, then say what you can do. You'll be surprised that you already had the answer.
I use this on my poor husband, by the time I've finished I know what is, or what I have to do.
Cheers Jae ♥

Thank you for the advice I will try it. You are right nothing gets done if it is in the head. It only gets done when you get it out of the head and on paper or computer.

You can do as Jae has suggested below or you can just do as I do and speak your mind out loudly to yourself and you will be surprised just how much comes to you just saying out what is on your mind. I often have a personal conversation with the thoughts that are on my mind lol. xxxx

Mary, you are very right there but on saying that I am dreadful there as I never really write things down lol. xxxx

Don't worry about that It took me a long time to learn to write things down and I slip even today that I sometimes I forget to write things down. So I am still in the learning phase with that myself.

I already do that about other things but I will do that with my business I think that would help me out a great deal. Thank you for the advice, I will try that.

You are very welcome Max, we all do things differently but we all get there in the end. xxx

We could have some fun with this, like “Don’t eat yellow snow.” I’ve always liked “Rule 1. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Rule 2. It’s ALL small stuff.”
Grant

Gross! ☺

Love that one Grant, always makes me think on the film Elf when I hear that, don't eat the yellow snow lol.

We definitely could have good fun with this lol. xxxx

Good Post. This is a way to refocus.
Jerry

Thank you Gerry and it definitely is a way to refocus. xxx

Great post - mine is simple....Enjoy your life! The other one I have on my website is "You know that thing you've been thinking about doing? It's time to go do it" I'm in my 60's and newly divorced after almost 45 years of being miserable! I love my new life. It is so true that life is too short to waste it being unhappy.

Two really good ones there Sachi and well done on your freedom and happiness and your escape from the miserable 45 years you suffered.

Now you can live the life you want exactly how you want it Life is definitely too short for being unhappy. xxx

I have a mantra! It helps me get things done, even if I don't feel I have the energy to do them. It is...
Everything I do today, will make for a better tomorrow.
I liked your mantra, too!

Thank you Ursa and I really like yours as well. That is such a very true saying. xxxx
