Airports

Man O Man, O'HARA airport is the worse!!! I just do not like this airport. I had to go there to update my TSA information.

Let's start with the parking, the garage parking is 40.00 a/day and the non-garage parking is so far that you have to take the bus and then the train just to get to the terminal.

On traveling days for me I always have to wear comfortable clothes and tenny shoes.

It is always crowed and the store employee's inside the airport are not that friendly. The security lines, even going through pre-check you get attitudes coming right at you.

Luckily, on this day I had to go to the airport, I was able to get in and out within 2 hours.

Crazy situations

Over the past 10 years I have traveled a lot and have been in many airports, many times. Including delayed 4 hours in Atlanta, sleeping in the Charlotte, NC airport, getting on the wrong plane (due to the wrong ticket being issued to me) , Luggage being destroyed(twice) many other incidents I could name.

Is it just me

It got me thinking how other people view airports. So, I thought I would put the question to the WA platform.

Chicago O'Hara and Atlanta airport are at the bottom of my list as far as airports.

Too bad, we have to use the very airports we don't like.

What's the worse airport you have every been in?

Just saying.......

I used to use Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton, all in London, quite often. The experience I had at each of these was just as you describe in your post. Here in Gibraltar, the airport terminal experience isn't so bad, there's only eight flights maximum per day, but it is on the list of the ten scariest runways in the world. Apart from being short, next to a 426 metre high rock and subject to severe crosswinds, it has the main road running across the middle of it. Sometimes, if the crosswinds are too severe, the incoming flights are diverted to Målaga in Spain, and that is one bad airport.

Makes you wonder how they cam up with the sites for these airports. Like why is that airport there? Out of all the other place but whomever chose there.
Thanks
Be Blessed.

Been to Newark several times, but had the flight change fast so I did not have to hang around.
I agree Atlanta and O'harebith on the bottom of my list, yet Detroit crept in there on several business trips a couple of years ago.

Fortunately, I live in just outside Columbus, Ohio and ours is very good, not because of bias, it just is.

Went to Kolkata, India during the ebola scare, took 3 different health areas to get out to get the luggage. Then onto a domestic flight which was interesting for sure.

The other one was in flying to China, and Beijing. Their International airport is different from their domestic one. We had to take a bus for several miles to get to that airport, but missed the flight because they have set time frame and they will not change it. Also, the reason we missed it 3 airlines had a similar name and on 3 different levels. by 2 minutes they would not accept us. so after flying 16 hrs up early, we had to sleep in a communist-era hotel close to the airport and leave early. WOW!

One other detail. Appreciate our TSA even the bad ones are better than being grilled by security for 25 minutes after we landed. No one will get through in their airport incorrectly. Ha Ha

The trip and the people were amazing, once we got some rest and traveled around.

We would love to visit again sometime.
Take care,
Bill

I can see my horrible times in airports don't compare to yours. Going to Costa Rica. I drove from Chicago to Nashville to pick up the girls (8 hour drive) We then drove to Atlanta (4 hour drive). I know why not just fly to Atlanta, it was cheaper for all of us to just drive.

We went on Delta and were blessed because it was a direct fly to Costa Rica. The issue was once we got there to get through custom the line was long as heck. But we made it through. We all had a wonderful time. We were coming up with ways of not to come back.

After getting my site making money like I want I plan to take more of these trips.

Thank you
Be Blessed

Washington Dulles airport...rats the size of small dogs running around in baggage claim. It was disgusting, and the the employees were so very rude. It made me sad to think that this would be many people’s first impression of the USA.

I have only been to Dulles once. Thank goodness I did not see and rats. I would be crazy. Here I thought BWI was hectic.
Thanks a lot. Be Blessed

Since O'Hare is my longtime hometown airport, and I really don't have anything positive to add, I would like to highlight one of my favorite airports. That would be Great Falls International Airport
in Montana. Google the name and scroll through the pictures, you might find it very calming.

I may have to get a connecting flight through there. Thank you. Be Blessed.

Just don't go in the winter! LOL!

Good afternoon my dear friend, I hate airports for the reasons that you have just mentioned. I have had my luggage vanish for a week, and I probably can go on and on what has happened to me in airports but it would take up way too much space. I love flying just don't like airports, May you have a beautiful Sunday.

We see eye to eye on that. Thanks

Try going to Newark, Cherry! I Sat down and blogged about 21 ways that pit was hell on earth!

Mr. Murphy rules there!

I have not been to Newark. Never flown into Jersey always drove. Well I believe if you say it is bad. Thanks. Be Blessed.

For 12 years now for some reasons I gave myself a temporal leave from all airport troubles since 2007.

Anyway am thinking of resuming my airport sweet and bitter experiences in the near future.

What can I say more?

That is the world for you and me!

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers.

I never thought about just not flying. Thanks for that. Be Blessed.

The good old days of flying are gone! It used to be such a pleasure.
Now, it is an ordeal to get through, wherever you are.
