What You Focus On Grows

Wow! I have started 4 websites because I have 2 businesses plus WA. I believe these websites are meant to be about educating potential clients' about possible solutions for problems they may have. The reason I have 2 websites for one of my businesses is that one is to educate about the problems and the other is to educate about the solutions. They will bounce off each other with links etc.

Anyway, over the last few days I have found, in my personal experience, a number of blog topics for one of these sites. This particular site is about how your body reacts to stuff. It's called What Are The Side Effects and I plan to outline the side effects for various medications, foods, chemicals such as those in personal care and cleaning products, lack of sleep etc.

Today, after being quite slack with my own nutritive care for some months, I woke up feeling a little stuffy and extra tired. I know this is self inflicted but bare with me here while I FOCUS on my point. I promise it will GROW on you.

I thought about each of the symptoms I gathered throughout today and checked what I had done that would have caused these issues. Everything has a cause, obvious or not, and when it comes to health we are mostly conditioned to go to the doctor, complain and take whatever medicine he/she prescribes and hope to get some relief from the symptoms until they disappear.

Well, for a long time now, I have taken control of my own health and learned what to do to prevent certain symptoms from popping up. I even have some solutions for when I don't adhere to the prevention protocol properly (self inflicted symptoms).

So mostly when I end up with self inflicted symptoms it's because I have moved the focus to something else and forgotten to follow the "rules" I have discovered so I don't wake up sick. They are pretty simple but that's not what this blog is about. It's about where my focus goes when it moves and what grows from it.

My websites are set up ready for amazing content to be added. I have been focusing on getting content onto them and thinking about different topics I could write about to 'edutain' my visitors. It's pretty easy to find topics on WA and my other business but my 'What Are The Side Effects' niche is difficult because there are so many things to write about and they are all relevant.

Ok, my point! It is time to work on the content for this particular site and as soon as my focus moved to this a whole lot of stuff happened that gave me the initial topics I need to research and write about. Today, while suffering the symptoms I had brought on myself, I realised that these are my topics. Lack of sleep, too much bread, not enough nutrient rich food, empty calories, and clearly not enough water.

Had I not been focused on the one business I don't yet have a complete website for, I might have just accepted the consequences of my slip in focus and found my way back to health without coming up with this list of enough writing topics to last quite a while.

Also a particular medication has been prescribed to a family member during this week which I will be studying and writing about. I will probably write about some things that might help to maintain health while having to take prescribed medicine (from the angle of side effects of course).

I have a business mentor who says that we should focus on one thing and what you focus on grows. Of course he is correct! That doesn't mean it's easy though and focusing on business so it will grow might mean your focus on looking after yourself is compromised. I think it's important to incorporate steps to take care of your ability to function into the focus on business and, now that I have taken advantage of this lapse in focus, I plan to do just that in the future.

I have combined "us looking after ourselves" and my webpage. That way the more interested I am in my niche the better I care for myself as well!

That's awesome Avera! Thanks for sharing :)

It is definitely worth finding balance each and every day. I personally have to set reminders around my house and work place to get off the computer and take a break from research, writing, selling, posting, etc and prepare a healthy meal and get some exercise. Focused balance mind, body, spirit, earning, helping others, and proper sleep.

Thanks Raymond,
Today I am having to focus on two things because I dropped the ball. Will be getting my routine sorted so I can get back to focusing on one thing!

Very good article, Cherie. Good luck with those four websites and your businesses.

Thanks Larry,
One of the businesses is my baby and of course WA will be just me as my partner has his own program to promote but the other business has both of us working on it so I won't be doing all of it by myself :)
I'm loving the writing!

Hi Cherie. Prior to joining WA my focus was on my inbox....and it certainly grew lol.

Joking aside, I know what you mean by something else may be compromised when you are focused on one thing. For example I am totally focused on logging in in the morning. What I do find difficult it logging off to have a break. I am very fortunate in that I dont have a day job to go to but I still keep to a pretty rigid routine, so that I'm not sitting on my laptop all day.

I get up. Drink a pint of water. Walk my two dogs for about 45 mins. Come back do an hour of yoga and meditation. ( I get up very early haha) Have a smoothie, THEN I log on.
I rarely if ever change my routine because I find if I swap things round then something gets left out.

I do find it difficult to take regular breaks during the day but my two boys do not give me any peace untill they've been for their second walk !!

Hey Cheryl,
I don't have animals to take me for a walk but while I was eating healthy and trying to establish a healthy routine Jack and I walked a little further every morning until 'detox' got the better of me and I wasn't well enough to walk. Then we went away for a month and never really got back into routine. Now we stay up way to late working and rarely get around to the walk. Must get back into that routine - will definitely help my focus grow lol.

Good to hear that. I guess patience is the key factor here.

Patience plus routine - thanks for reading and commenting - it means a lot!
