Get Ready For Massive Failure?

The Pathway To Success

Our life journey is filled with ups and downs, successes and failures. We handle the successes with excitement and celebration. We are encouraged to keep going and get further. The more successes we have the less we expect to fail. This is true success! Over and over getting it right every time. No challenge and no failure.

Well...? Throw in a challenge or a fail. What happens to your success? Are you a sudden failure? Do you give up and become the failure? What's to become of your success when you can't succeed?

They say the road to success is filled with massive failure. Thomas Edison when asked by a reporter, "How many times are you going to fail at creating the light bulb?" replied, "Son, I haven't failed! I've simply discovered another way not to invent the light bulb!" It took two years and many failed attempts to finally succeed.

At age 65, Colonel Sanders, instead of retiring, proceeded to go door to door looking for a partner to take his fried chicken recipe to the world. After 1009 said "No" he finally found someone who said "Yes". What if he had given up after the first few said "No"? How many meals would you have had to find somewhere other than KFC. When he sold the business of 600 franchises for $2 million he was so famous that he was kept on as the face of the business.

There are many, many successes that only have light shone on the success. Not many know of the battles and failures that have led to such success. Mostly we don't know because we don't ask. I happened to hear these two stories in a seminar and just looked them up online. I bet there are a lot more stories of massive failure before success if we just went looking for them instead of just thinking they had something we don't have!

Check it out. See how many massive failures you can find that have become "overnight successes". Then get ready for massive failure because this is the pathway to success!

"Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." - Thomas Edison.

Be successful on purpose!

Really good affirmative Post Cherie. Enjoy every No, they bring you closer to the next yes.

Thank you Peter. The yeses build your business and the nos build your character!

Hi Cherie
yes. When we "fail" at something, it just gives us another opportunity to grow.

If something doesnt work out, it just means something bigger and better is waiting for us to be ready to receive it !

Everything happens for a reason.

......and my favourite. Something my mum always says :-

"Out of something bad comes something good" :)

As my business mentor always says, "look for the gift or lesson!"

Thanks so much for an awesome blog post, Cherie.
I love the quote. :))

Hello Cherie,
Great article about failure, there really is not such thing. It is just learning how not to do something until success reaches you.
Very inspiring story about Colonel Sanders.
Love your quote, Thomas Edision is a hero of mine. Did you know he found 10,000 ways not to make a light bulb? Another truly inspirational man.

Thanks,
San

I knew it was a lot! Thanks San

If I hadn't lived in Sydney, or spent time in Bermuda, the story of Colonel Sanders wouldn't mean anything to me...

I think about him a lot, and even in the US, my friends have no clue what he went through...

I know in Bermuda, he was one of the first 'Fast Food' restaurants, and it's still there. Australia, Japan... Just amazing achievement...

He motivates me, because I know something else is around the corner...

That's awesome Gary. Thanks for sharing!
