What will happen if i dont add meta tags in wordpress, how will my blog appear in the search engine. please be specific. Thanks

Google will use the first 160 characters of your post/page as the description in a search. If that isn't suitable, you can add your own description of the post/page in the description meta tag field (160 characters max).

Boomer has covered the keyword meta tag field - leave it blank.

As Far as I can gather google not look at meta tags since about 2012, content now seems to be the way to go together with key words.

really, good to know

Which meta tags are you referring to? The ones that are beneath the Preview Snippet in the All in One SEO Pack area under the WordPress Editor window?

yes

You can leave them blank because the All in One SEO will take care of them for you. If you look at the Preview Snippet, that is what it will look like in Google.

If you are okay with what is there then leave everything in the meta area blank. If you want or need to change anything, the title and description meta can be updated by you. NEVER add keywords to the keyword meta. Google and the other search engines do not use that meta tag anymore and putting keywords in there could do more harm than good to your rankings.

'Google and the other search engines do not use that meta tag anymore' really??? since when. info please

I didn't say that Google and the other search engines do not use the meta tags anymore. I said they do not use the "keyword meta tag" anymore and you should never put keywords into that tag.

Google is absolutely clear when they say to not pay attention to the meta keywords because they (and others) do not use them anymore. They do however use the meta description tag and like I said above, you can update what the All in One SEO gives you, which by default is the first 160 character spaces of your first paragraph of text within your content.

If you would like to hear Matt Cutts of Google say that Google and the other search engines do not use the meta keywords anymore, watch his video at this link. - http://youtu.be/RBTBEfd7z_Y

In my wordpress blog, I notice that whenever i add a tag, '#' shows up in my content. for example, I add the tag 'google' and everywhere that 'google' is in my content '#google'

As MisterWailor stated, you don't need to. With the All in One SEO your content tags are already created for you.
If what you say is continuing, I would trash the post. First copy and paste onto a new page on your computer. Edit and delete, then copy and paste into a new post. Hope this helps. ^_~

Sorry don't know how to do that

You don't need to add tag to your content, it make no difference in ranking.

I have not come across this before, unable to help if you cannot get an answer within here try the live chat
