I have been looking at lots of options as what to do for the Foreseeable future as my industry is not an easy one and very unpredictable. I have been looking at Amazon and wealthy affiliates for some time and this is the one I would like to give a go. Fingers crossed

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I would recommend that you narrow it down a bit, what aspect of "golf" do you want to help people out with?
When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:
I want to help people that ______________.
Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

I was wanting to help people to play better golf. eg hitting a straight golf shot, you can buy golf balls that assist this, i personally have not tried them but you can buy them. and any other tools that could improve your golf. Does this make any sense or should i look for something else.

Sure, you can head in that direction. Improve your handicap may be a better choice, if you want to help people improve their overall game. Definitely a direction that you can head.
