I am interested to hear from others, as to, the reason why you joined WA? And also, how you found WA.

I personally joined, cause I have been interested in making and incom

I was googling reviews on workIng from home and saw WA listed. I liked what I read and joined.

Hola, Charlene!

Like many, I was looking for a way to supplement my income and possibly replace "my day job".

I wasted a lot of money on scams and eventually stumbled across WA in October 2007! (yeah, 7 years ago). The rest is history :)

Wow Alex! 7 years! I take it you have found success then, by being a member at WA?

Well, we all define success differently but I guess it is success for me. I have been "job-free" since then, I travel quite a bit, I don't use an alarm clock and I don't need to worry about rent... :)

I am still at WA because learning never stops. There is always something new, there is always change. Besides, it is an awesome community and some of the people I met here actually became my friends OFFLINE which is really cool.

Brilliant! I would personally define your "success" as "success." I would be very pleased with that outcome. :)

Thanks You, Charlene. WA is a great place to get you there and beyond, so keep at it! Keep pushing and it'll happen :)

I hear you. It is a widespread event!

You have asked 2 very interesting questions.

Asking questions is the best way (online or offline) to start a conversation & relationship.

I have made a list of questions to ask people I meet (& myself) which has been very helpful. I have done a Post on my profile, listing these questions.

Take a look at that "Question Post" at:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/wb5yjs/blog/wally-wiki-tips-9

AND tell me what you think.

To You Success & Happiness,

Thank you Wally! I have left you a comment under the link.

Hi Charlene, Joined WA because after an exhausting and intensive online search for a legitimate work at home opportunity (and lets be honest here....there are a boat load of them out there) I signed up with WA. I was attracted to the education - pay it forward thing.

I found WA through an internet search and followed an affiliates link online.

Andy! Thank you so much for your reply. I am still finding my way around WA. Please could I ask-being a bit naive. But could I ask what is "pay it forward?"

Hi Charlene, sorry for the slow reply. I've been traveling with limited internet access. "Pay It Forward" quite simply.... do a good deed for some one else without expectation of return. Anything!

Thanks Andy!! I worked it out afterwards. ;) So much to take in! Thank you again!

hi Charlene,
I wish I could tell you why I joined specifically but I don't remember. I think it was because I used to code HTML websites back in the day before WordPress and I knew they were advantages to learning a new platform.
I do remember I joined the eight weeks as at that time the training was dripped said over an eight week period.. I didn't leave because I quickly became aware that the training was constantly being updated and you're never sure when you're going to need something

Thank you so much for your response! Yes, the training is really good. The fact it is being updated all the time is great too.

Hi Charlene, where should I begin?
Let's say just like you I work many hours, I have two little girls that I support. I have always given 100% to my jobs and for years I have wanted to start an online business. I have come across lots and lots of different scams online that promise you the world but as soon as they have your money, there is no support.

I came across WA by complete accident and well here I am a year later. I have accomplished so much, the support is amazing, I have laughed, cried . I love it here!!! We can chop and change, but if WA is you then every little bit of information you could possibly think of is here, even friendships to be made. Good luck Charlene, I hope this helps :)

Thank you for your response! I am so pleased to hear you have accomplished so much.
I believe you just have to put the effort and time in with Affiliate Marketing. It's a case of not giving up. Trouble is, far too many do, because I suppose they think it is a way to "get rich quick." But it is a business, and businesses take time to establish.

Thank you again!

HI Charlene,
Nice to hear you like WA.
I think I am just like you. For many years i was searching for an extra income. But i was a little sceptical about affiliate marketing.
I found WA by searching for online opportunities and found a website i've tried that. It was like it was written for me, because i've tried different things to.
So I was attracted and began reading.
After three day I was convinced this is IT for me and became a premium member.

So now I am still learning, but the results are there. I made a first sale today :-).
So now i've desided to become an expert.

Let's do this together, and we Will see each other at the beaches of the world!

Greetz,
Crownie

Wow Crownie! Well done! Thank you for your reply. I hope your success continues! onwards and upwards! :)

For those who host their websites out side of WA. How do you back up your website? Thank you!

Hi there,

every webhosting provider should have a backup feature in the admin area (cPanel).

You can also backup your website the same way as WA teaches. Via Export and a plugin called "WordPress Database Backup" by Austin Matzko.

Kyle's video has you covered on the Export Feature:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-back-up-your-wordpress-site-using-tools-export

A fellow WA member (@MarionBlack) has you covered on the plugin (WP-DB-Backup = WordPress Database Backup):

Hope this helps. :)

All the best,

Thank you very much Nicole! That's really helpful! :)

You're welcome. Glad I could help. :)

Local Marketing

Hi!

Offering websites for local businesses is something I have thought about for some time now. As I have built a few websites for friends and family on wordpress in the p

I host client sites here at WA. the security and backup features incorporated automatically into our WA sites save me hours of work and multiple plugins.

Most of my clients want relatively simple websites and WA is fine.

when a client website is going to be big and complex and I think I may need cPanel I go with Namecheap.

I've never had a problem that member or support was not able to resolve quickly.

Hi, personally we host our client sites on an external host - hostgator or now we use namecheap. Entirely for that reason you mentioned, it can be common that things are needed to be done in Cpanel which is not possible to access in WA. All the best! Alex

Thank you Alex! I really appreciate that.

I am also weighing up, if it is worth me paying out for WA. Because I already use Hostgator. So if I decide to host other clients there. I may cancel membership here.

It's interesting... Because I have found a few posts here at WA, about hosting clients here at WA. But cannot actually seem to find anyone that does it. I can only seem to find people who host clients elsewhere, as you do.

Thanks again!

No worries at all, just from our experience this seems to work best. WA hosting is very good for basic affiliate template sites although for more complicated things we find it can be easier to use external hosting providers. Good luck with it!

Thank you! :)

Keyword, Niche and Market Research
Updated

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could give me their thoughts or opinions.

I think I have found my niche, but have a couple of concerns.

I currently work as a freela

It sounds like a good niche for you since you already have experience in getting clients to your website now. Just doing a quick basic google search of mobile beauty business gets 26,800,000 results. As for the affiliate programs I would look for programs that sell the type of beauty products you use in your business or that you would recommend.

Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate it. :)
As there are 26,800,000 results. Am I right in assuming that means there are a lot of competing websites? Would that mean there is a business there? Or possibly too much competition? I have previously read that it is not a good idea to compete with over 3 million results. Don't know if that is good/right advice or not?

I was just doing a general google search to see that there was a market for the niche. But in playing around on Jaaxy for the keyword search of mobile beauty business the QSR is 198 (below 300 is good) and the SEO is 86, the green dot indicates it is a good keyword. Also the key words of best natural beauty products the QSR is 198 and SEO is 84 plus the average traffic is 1063 so that would be another good keyword to build up the content.

Thank you so much! It's very kind of you to take the time to do that for me. :) That is all really helpful. Thank you again.
