Hi Dean,
Good questions. Unfortunately above my pay scale at this time.
I'm sure someone will come up with a solution here and I too will wait for any answers because I think that I am going to run into this shortly. Hopefully not if I follow the training step-by-step.

Regards.

Paul.

I wrote a new post "for people who want to write but can't get started" and published it on my website, then I shared it with the WA community in a blog, I found it on Google p

Ranking starts with your hosting authority and evolves out to the general traffic of the internet.

The WA blog is indexed by Google. And, because of the domain authority of WA, it's going to attract more attention at first. Now, as you blog evolves, this article will gain traction and likely take over that position and surpass it.

So you think that the post on my website will eventually surpass the blog I posted on WA?

You will want to put a link on your post that has your affiliate ID incorporated into it. You can get your affiliate id by going into the "wa affiliate program" and there you will find your affiliate id. Just copy your affiliate id and add it as a link. Make sure it is a clear call to action like "Join me here at Wealthy Affiliate" congrats dean good work, cheers Mike.

So I can go to my profile and copy my affiliate link and then add it to the blog I wrote in WA? I'm not sure how to do that.

I pulled up the blog and clicked on the link and my id is in it. Thanks Mike.

Just checked out your post, cool! You are with some good company on that page 49,700,000 related search results and you are on the first page, great job Dean!

Thank you Mike, my only concern is if referrals come from that post on Google that I would get credit for it.

I grabbed a picture from my pc and saved it into my media. I've added it and deleted it several times to a page because I can't get the picture where I want it.

I have tried everything to move the photograph without result;
What exactly are the steps I should go through to up load the
photograph?

Hi Dean, yes this can be a frustrating process when you first try it out but all you have to do is click where you want your picture to be and make sure when you are adding the photo you say what location you want it to be right, center or left it doesn't matter where you click if you don't specify where you want it to go, if you click on the left and in the edit menu of the image it says right that's where it will go the image destination has to match where you click prior to putting the image on your post.
Download your image to your site image edit manager,
choose size which will give you choices of medium, full size or custom.
choose location.
prior to this make sure you have your cursor where you want your image and that it coincides with what you have selected inside the image editor and you should be fine after that it's a matter of playing with it to see how your text works around your image.

I always click before the first word of a paragraph then I can choose Left, Right, Center or None for the alignment.

Your image probably shows the symbol with the left arrow. It should show the one with the right arrow. Click that symbol. Hover the mouse over it, it should say 'no aligment'.

The cursor is the key, Char. And then just play, until you get it right. You know that you can also adjust the size once it is on the page too?

That worked great, thank you!

Am delighted!

Well stated Paul

I put the cursor in between the two words and it added the image to the left of the sentence.

Click the image and see if the alignment of the image is "left". I'll bet it is. You have to set that to "none".
Let me get you a screenshot...

You were right, thank you so much for your help!

Glad you got it the way you want it now. :-)

Then make sure you have the cursor between the two words where you want to have the image.
E.g. Stop! Before you invest.
And from there you click add media etc. That should do it.

I'm trying to put it in between two words. On my website page I have this sentence: Stop! Before You Invest. I'm trying to put the stop sign between the word Stop! and Before.

What exactly do you want? Do you want it in a specific spot and you can't get it there? Left? Right? Between 2 words?
You need to give some more information in order for us to help...

I too seem to have problems with images Paul... some folk get beautiful images onto their pages/posts. I've used the 'free image' sites that Kyle recommends, but the gratis pictures are quit limited it seems. I guess the alternative is to pay for them... getting them exactly positioned where I want them is still gonna be an issue though.

I've noted that the 'edit page' looks presentable, but once uploaded, the positioning of the wording around the graphics is completely different. So too the font appearance and the 'density' of paragraph headings. Ummmm ?? :)

An image is an image, indeed, not matter if bad or good.
You have to watch what you're doing. Don't use LARGE images (wide and high), that leaves too little space for text. Make them smaller. Also don't try to put them in a paragraph in between all kinds of text, that requires HTML and CSS trickery. Put them left, right or center. Left and right will allow text next to the picture. A centered image should be on its own 'paragraph'; don't try funny stuff unless you're great with HTML and CSS.

I've shied away from using large images, as I understand that they CAN slow down load time... however, that raises he question of how untold numbers of sites use HD/many-pixel images - lots of 'em! - but still manage to get instant access when clicked?
