I've been looking at ways to automate posting to social media when I create a blog post and have been using a service called buffer.com which offers a free plan to automate pos

Never heard of either. Interesting.

Tried and true

I use paid Buffer for most social media sharing.

I have not used IFTTT for that purpose, but lately, I have come across several tweets from all over, where some IFTTT seems to have gone wrong. These are not WA related.

But I have used IFTTT for other automated tasks where I have used a pre-made task and implemented it for my use. In many cases, this did not work after a while, mainly because the task and dependencies were poorly defined by the one who made the task and then something changed along the way.

For my use, IFTTT seems to demand a constant follow-up that the tasks really go as expected. And after I went for other services like Buffer, I ditched IFTTT

Thanks for the insight on IFTTT. I don’t have any experience with IFTTT but I can see that as sites and tools are updated IFTTT may break.

I would go for premium Buffer, Hootsuite or other tools for this.

I have a client who wants some scheduled tweets over a long period, and I just set up tweets for six months ahead using the free Tweetdeck.

So there are many solutions out there

Hi Chris:). Maybe you should contact this person first to make sure they are aware of it. I would never do anything wrong intentionally, but we're all human and we do accidentally make mistakes.

Hi Suzi,
I do tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. In this case when I did a quick web search on one of the acronyms used in the post that I wasn’t familiar with, I found the original post by a company selling training on the topic. And one of the infographics used on the WA hosted site was on the training company’s site with a copyright tag on the infographic.

Typically when someone uses someone else’s image it is taken exactly because the person doesn’t spend the time to make it different, but on this person’s page the image was identical except for the copyright tag was cropped out. So I felt the need to report it.

Thanks for the different perspective on this question.
Chris

You're welcome:) I'm always terrified that I'm going to do something horribly wrong, probably because I have made so many mistakes in the past!

Always report something like this. This individual is trying to STEAL someelse's work, They need to reported immediately.
Jerry

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for the reply. I agree with you and I did later report the site. I chose Other as the reporting option and would have liked to have had a comment box to add a reason for reporting the site. It should be pretty obvious if they look at the page though.
