This post if for those times when you are feeling down on yourself. You know, those days when you feel useless and wonder why you keep going. I want you to think about all the titles that you have.

Now I want you to realize that every single one of them is a part of your life that makes you important.

Here is a list of some title you may be able to claim.

I am a...

Mother or Father

Wife or Husband

Sister or Brother

Aunt or Uncle

Grandmother or Grandfather

Professional

Writer

Teacher

Student

Business owner

Musician

Artist

The list goes on and on, every title that you can claim makes you important even if it's just one. You are also an important part of other people's lives. Each title gives you responsibility, the responsibility to work hard and be the best you can be. Take those titles seriously, they make you who you are. Be proud of your titles, you are a VIP!

Never stop trying to add more titles to your list. Every title that you can claim will make you feel important. I know of one title that everyone who is reading this post wants to add to the list and that is "I am a Wealthy Affiliate Marketer".

Have a wonderful day,

That goes beyond the standard title labelling Cathy

...there is a huge difference between a "title" and a "position"...between a "position" and a "responsibility"...between a "responsibility" and an "obligation"...it is called "humanity"...

Yes, I agree...

All the IQ in the world will not get you through if you do not have a reasonable amount of EQ in your life...

There are many kinds of power, some come with a position or a title, etc. but the best one I think is personal power...

Add a dash of charisma, an ability to inspire, a bit of transformational leadership, losing the fear of facing fear, and that ingredient humanity you mention...

What you end up with is a perfect or near perfect recipe for success and positive change...

Easy to write about, tough to live it...

Cheers!

Well put.

Good stuff...

All titles pass away eventually

What do you mean by pass away? I will always be a Mother, Grandmother, Wife and so on.

Hi, Cathy...

This post reminds me of my earlier days when I was building my "I love me" wall to see what I had accomplished right in front of me whenever I wanted to look...

It can be helpful to keep you going and give you that inspiration to get that next title or diploma or position, and for years that is what it did for me...

I reached a point when I retired from the military where when I looked at that wall full of framed events, diplomas, certificates, awards, and it did nothing more for me...

The things I had done to receive all those things hanging in the wall were a part of my past and who I was as a person, and there were some other things that meant more but were not there...

That is when I threw out almost all the "I love me" things and kept just a few...Ones that really could evoke an emotional response when I viewed them...

One is a picture that my daughter drew my wife and I while she was in a psychological evaluation program after trying to commit suicide...

She had been acting out as many teenagers do, and after almost losing her, my wife and I took the extreme step of flying with her back to the USA from Germany and staying in the area while she went through that...

Her expression of her love for us is in that picture, and she went on to graduate from high school and college and now is quite stable and has three kids and a good life in Germany...

Another one I kept was a company guidon (flag) from the time I served as a First Sergeant for a training company in Fort Lee, Virgina. The cadre all wrote personal messages to me on the back of that nicely framed memento...

Yet more ended up in my home bar...These were signed on the back mirrors from my last assignment as the V Corps and USAREUR G4 Sergeant Major (Logistics), plus some other bar items (they knew I had just built that bar and wanted to deck it out for me, and I was not looking for swords and such)...

The best titles I have had over the years often do not make any sense unless you know me and my background...When I started to use Skype many years ago, I signed up with the handle of one of these titles as "food dude" - to this day people ask me what the heck does that mean hehe...

This is the honorary title I was given and known by many years ago while assigned to HQ DA with the Army Food Program. There I was involved in many cutting-edge projects that either came to fruition while I was there or after...

One of the favorite ones is a picture of me with two other Sergeants Major in the Balkans...

The three of us were the main soldiers responsible on the logistics side for helping that operation go as well as it did...We all worked our butts off and many hundreds of thousands of people were helped over 5 years of my life...

Family wise, over and above the picture from my daughter, the titles Opa and Papa are ones I carry proudly and will carry to my grave hehe...

There are always bad times and good times...You do not put all the bad things that happen on a wall - you try to learn from them and not repeat the mistakes...

That is why I got rid of that "I love me" wall so long ago - the titles and times live on in my heart and head, and both the good and the bad times manifest themselves in who I am today and what I do/try to do...

Remembering that you have accomplished things in your life and when you see the results around you can be validation enough and it comes to a point when you do not need to see it for yourself, rather you want to see it in others...

It is important that you have some sort of measure though as you go along, and make any corrections that may be needed...The titles are certainly one measure and worked for me for years...

So your point of the post certainly has merit, and members here need to think about this...

Good post, sorry such a long comment back on this, but just getting started this morning hehe, and the caffeine is coursing through the veins!

Cheers!

What a wonderful story you just share with us. I'm glad my post inspired you to write this. Our titles do not need to be on a wall but kept in our hearts as we live our lives.

I don't need titles. I know who I am and that is enough.
Anyway, thanks for sharing. It's always nice to see how other people think.

Thanks for reading. We are all important people!

Grandson or grand daughter, grand uncle or grand aunt ... I'm sure there are more ...

Yes, like I said the list can go on and on. It's what makes us who we are.

What about son or daughter?

Those are great little too.

Great post thanks for sharing

You're welcome!

Very good post, gives you something to think about.

Thanks, glad you likes it.

I only have 12 titles as of now, mom, wife, grandma. home decorator, maid, gardener, plumber, biker, mechanic, painter, student and the family counselor. Will be adding more soon. That's about 10 to many.

Wow, that's a bunch. And everyone is an important part of your life. :)
