About CathieB

Hi my name is Catherine. Online I am usually known as Cathie. I live in the beautiful Adelaide Hills surrounded by forest and national park, where the scenery is sublime and the internet and mobile connection is slightly better than it is on Mars. My nearest town is Gumeracha which is just forty minutes out of Adelaide, South Australia. I work as a nurse at a smallish hospital in one of Adelaide's outer suburbs. I recently became a Life Coach, more for my personal interest than to start a coaching practice. I have a strong interest in personal growth and development and want to build my website in this area. I have three cats and two dogs, one of whom is my soul dog of seventeen years, my best friend and the great dog of my life.
I am an introvert, and a book addict. I suffer from bookworm constipation; I am unable to pass a book. I have a belief that all books actually belong to me and are just trying to find their way home. I go for walks in the bush. I garden and I could happily study all day long. I have one son and one nine year old granddaughter, and one partner of ten years who is Indian.
My partner and I are practicing Hare Krishna though personally I practice it very badly, when I feel like it, and do not have my nose stuck in a book. We have the most beautiful temple here in Adelaide which I don't get to often enough - hardly ever at the moment. I am in many ways still more of a multi faith person. My best and dearest friend has just become Muslim. I am a vegetarian and I drink way too much tea. That is me in a nut shell.

Money Goals
Well the moment that I can earn $2000 per month I would drop down to part time work and work on my blog/website every spare minute. As for ecstatic that would be $5000 - $10000 per month.
I am already working every spare minute in researching and on the website that I have been setting up before I found this Wealthy Affiliate site. I can be rather OCD (obsessive and compulsive) when it comes to working on something I love so in answer to question #3 - every spare minute from 0300 till whenever.

Superb goals Cate! You have a large network and community here at WA that you can leverage for help and support along the way, myself included.

It all starts with a goal...then is followed by action...then is followed by results. This is going to be how it pans out for you and I can't wait to hear about all of your successes in the days, weeks, and months ahead! :)

Awesome goals Cathie! I know from personal experience that this is all absolutely possible and the key to making this all happen is to do the training WA provides and to take action with it.

You already have blogging experience so I'm sure you'll make faster progress than most. As long as you do this often and work hard, you will see the desired results.

You always have myself and the whole WA community here to help you 24-7 if you ever have any questions :)

Yes it's good here, I used to love to shop in Aldgate, it had the most wonderful craft shops, but that has changed a bit now.
We just had to evacuate for 3 days as we were in the path of the Sampson Flat bushfire. Have been offline as I packed up my precious computer and all my stuff and went to a friends house with 3 cats and 2 dogs and rest of family in tow and she has no internet, TV or radio. Now we are back but can't leave home as we are still on bushfire alert and praying for rain. And also got home to find that CFS has dug up the phone line so we have no landline.
However that's all just stuff. What is really hard is to think about those that lost their homes and all the animals that have died. Sometimes life in the hills can be a bit rugged. But around my house the gum trees
and the wild life are in tact. We have been very lucky. Phone lines aside the CFS did a flat out amazing job.

Cate, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Anyways, just checking in. Get back at me if you need anything Cate.

Hi Kyle, yes I am very dogged and so I will work through every level of Bootcamp and do every task. So far things are falling into place and I am learning most of what I need. So I will just keep on going. I have a very clear idea of what I want in the next year. I will work towards that.
I have just encountered a wee small problem with my email address for my site after following the instructions to add a new user, but I will go over that lesson and the instructions again and see if I can sort it out. Otherwise I will holler. Thanks Cate.

Hi Kyle, I am now having some trouble setting up my new user name. I had my computer tech set up a new email address for my site so that I could keep those emails separate from my personal emails and then I completed the steps outlined in Bootcamp to set up a new user for my site. Now my site has 2 users - admin with my personal email and new user with my site email. However I got a comment on my site which came to my personal email and we sent a test one also and that comes to my personal email and my replies go out as Admin.
If I go to the dashboard and edit the admin user and remove my personal email and put in my new email will that affect emails coming from WA users to me personally? Bit confused.
Reply
Kyle Premium
That is because if you want to use your new user, you will have to log in as that user (log in manually, not use the log me in button). Also, in terms of comments if your content has been created by Admin, the emails will go to that email. You can update the author of your content within your page/post editor for those specific pages.

Hi Kyle I am sorry that this is turning out to be a huge problem for me but it is. So far I have created a new user. Under users I now have admin and CathieB. But at the bottom of each post the comments still go to admin. How do I change this so that it appears as CathieB? You say that I have to log in manually as the new user. I don't know how to do this. When I go to site manager there is only the login button. If I go to the site email tab my new email is listed and it says login. That takes me to something called atmail.
Also in the post editor where my posts are created by Admin how do I update the author of that content? If I click on Admin that just takes me to a general edit of my post but does not give me any option to change the author. Beyond frustration. Thanks

You will to log in as that user...meaning you will not want to use the automated login button here, you will have to manually log in through the administration page /wp-admin. You will find this under your details for your website.

Then you will log in using CathieB/password there. You can also update the "author" of any of your content when you are logged in as an administrator as well without issue.

Hi Cathie :) You sound like such a lovely person and fellow Aussie :) I can so relate to much of what is YOU. I enjoy many of the same things. I have just rediscovered my books again after a long hiatus rearing kids, but now you can't keep me away from a good book! My 23 year old daughter is the same. Even though she has just moved back to our home with a 2 year old from a failed relationship, and the pair of them are squashed into a small bedroom, she has books on the window sill, books piled up along the side of her bed, they're everywhere :) I have just discovered Kindle for PC and free ebooks on Amazon, so I have been downloading heaps, lots of money making ones too, that is when my internet works. ADSL ends halfway up our street, we down the other end have copper wire! No high speed broadband for us! Sounds like the same for you? :)
I have 4 cats and they are my fur-kids :)
Anyway it's lovely to meet you on here and lets hope that we can both find ourselves a little piece of success, or maybe a BIG piece! :)
Cheers,
Lynette

Hi Lynette, good to meet you. What part of Aussie Land do you come from? I too have been thinking about a kindle, but I already have more books than I can read. I'm a bit afraid I will go mad if I can access free or really cheap books. Discovering Fishpond was a mixed blessing for me. Cheap books but too easy to get carried away.
Yes I don't really know what kind of success I really want from this. Some days I just hope that I will be able to work from home doing something I love. Writing about personal development and life and getting paid for it. But then I also think I would like to be really successful, just for the fun of it. So here's to a BIG piece of success then.
I have started my website here at WA. I am going to review personal development books and also personal development products.
That's the WHAT. Still working on the HOW. I am not at all clear on that yet. I am open to any and all suggestions. My site is called Along The Enlightenment Road and the domain is enlightenmentroad.com. It does not have much content yet. Feel free to comment. Have you got your website running yet?

Hi Cathie! I am from the Jervis Bay area on the New South Wales south coast. It's a very pretty area. Yes, I know the problem with the free and cheap books, lol, it's easy to get addicted, mind you, if you need to find self help books to review, there's a great place to start! ;)
I use Kindle for PC on my desktop PC and it's free to download, so I got it a few days back and have quite a collection of money making and self help books already and every one of them was FREE.
Your site & niche sound very helpful, I have no doubt it could be a great source of information for people. I will check it out tomorrow, oh hey, it IS tomorrow, nearly 1am!
Just go with with the flow Cathie and see where it takes you :) I still haven't got my site up yet because I was going to create my own niche, then I decided to change at the last minute and do WA Bootcamp because I couldn't decide where to go with my own niche or should I say niches, too many to choose from! That is the problem.
It is something that I will come back to later though when I have got the first one up and running :) I still find there are things I am not clear on too, and have to either go back over it again or ask someone, so that slows me down. I'll get there in the end :) I have a whole day to myself tomorrow, absolutely no one at home to distract me, so I am going to make the most of it! :) Maybe I might even get that website up =she says with wishful thinking in case she jinxes herself!=lol :)
Take care Cathie!

I have never heard of Kindle for PC, but I am going to check that out! FREE books. That's too good to pass up. Yes I like my niche but it is going to be some work to get it going. And I have chosen a complicated site but I like it. Every lesson I take in Boot camp teaches me one more thing. So in the end I have to assume it will all fit together.
I think you should get your website up. It really gives you something to focus on. I just complete each step as I go. I find that one of the hard things is choosing a theme that works for you.
I just messed around with so many themes until I got one I liked. Now I have so much writing to do, but I love to write. Just finding the time is the killer. If I didn't have to sleep that would solve things. Cheers, Cathie.

Hi Cathie :) I am just popping in for a quick update as I picked up a virus from my granddaughter a few days ago and have been too sick to do anything. Same again today, got no sleep last night as I was coughing all night so I need to catch up on some shut eye :) Yes, wouldn't it be great if we didn't need to sleep! We would get so much more done! :)
ha ha! You couldn't resist the lure of FREE books could you Cathie! :D I know I couldn't! I hadn't bothered with Kindle before because I thought it was only for phones and tablets, but when I found that you could get Kindle for PC, and it was FREE, I thought, "I'm having that!"
Yes, I really need to get onto my website, I have a draft up but I haven't got it online as I am still trying to write up the rest of the content I am going to put on there. Getting the right angle is the tough bit for me especially when my head is in a "flu fog". Once I get that figured the writing is not much of a problem.
I also have found since I have been getting these free books off Amazon, mostly money making and self help ones, when I have downloaded it, it gives you the option to Tweet about it, or share on Facebook. I have been doing this and have had a huge number of new people following me, so this could be a great way to leverage the right kind of traffic to our websites from the followers we pick up there. I can't believe how many new followers I get every day!
Oh well, my body aches are telling me it's time for some aspirin and back to bed unfortunately.
All the best Cathie and talk to you again soon I'm sure!

PS. Have just had another look at your website and I LOVE the layout, and it seems that you are covering a lot of the same kind of content I will be putting into mine eventually. I'm very much into Law of Attraction, abundance, money making and self help. anyway it's great Cathie! :)

Hi Kyirrie. I have downloaded Kindle for PC. You are right. The lure of free books...I haven't worked out how to use it yet so haven't downloaded anything but when I do I think the Face Book and Twitter idea is brilliant. I just don't have either of those things yet. They are up there on my to do list.
Thankyou for the feedback on my site. So much of it is incomplete. I chose it because it seems to have many places in which to feature different books and other items that I want to review.
On the first site that I created outside of WA I chose a theme called Access Press Lite and the support from them is fantastic. The site comes with user documentation and when you email them they respond with how to videos. This new site I am using is called Nirvana and so far the support is not so good. I am having trouble getting the slider up and running, and I can't seem to get any information out of these people. I may end up using the Access Press Lite theme for both sites. I will have to start adding some serious content soon. I am in the process of finding out how to access pictures for the books I review. Apparently I can get them from Amazon. Then I will need pictures of products. Each step I want to take seems to require days of research. Everything is still so new.
I am hoping that by the end of this year much of the learning curve will be out of the way and things that seem like hurdles now will be routine.
Then I will just be able to concentrate on creating content that satisfies me and attracts people to my site.
And yes I love the Law of Attraction - abundance creation and all that stuff. Learning how that works is very important to me. This WA process is how we take the action that is necessary for the Law to work in our lives. Hope you are over your flu and feeling better. Look forward to viewing your website. Cheers Cathie.

Hi Cathie :)
Sorry for the delay in replying. I'm still a bit under the weather with this flu. Just when I think I am nearly over it, it decides to come back and have another go at me! :( And this crazy weather on the east coast 40oC in the day then thunderstorms every afternoon doesn't help either. Ha, ha! I knew you'd be hooked on Kindle for PC :) Yeah I find it has a little quirk in that because I originally got into it from the UK Amazon I couldn't go directly to the books from there, it gives you a link in the right hand corner to get the same book from the Australian Amazon link for free. It's a little bit of stuffing around but worth it :) Yes, definitely worth getting Facebook and Twitter too to utilise with your internet marketing as you can pick up a lot of traffic through there. LinkedIn is another.
I can so relate Cathie, with how long it takes being new to all this, that's why I still haven't got mine online yet. I am in the process of writing up my blog and my About me, but I know there is going to be a stream of questions I'll be asking before going live. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right, legal, and all that, so therefore every little step seems to take forever.
It's good that at least one of the sites you have done has good support, shame about the other one, like they say, "live and learn", we are definitely doing that here! :)
Better start heading for bed now, it's been a long day.
All the best Cathie! :)
Cheers,
Lynette

Hi Johor. We'll I try to stay grounded. It's a good place to do that. When I work out how to get my blog going I will load some pictures. I am surrounded by bush and native forest. My cats have 2 large runs that they access from the house and I am building another. I don't like to let them run wild. Not safe for them or the wildlife.
I feed lots of magpies in the garden and when I walk I see loads of kangaroos and some emus. We have kangaroos in the garden eating the apple trees. So it's peaceful.

LOL.... Hi Cathie.. you are just funny... You would do great as a Life Coach, when you are looking up that is. ;-) Are you a Sagittarius by any chance? Just joking... Tell you what... the WA culture is beautiful. The founders have really brought a nice sense of a not so distressed family feeling to it... The first week I couldn't stay away from the community - almost addictive - and then I realized I needed to work. Still super behind but totally worth the money... more than... Where did you recently become a Life Coach fro? ICA?
I wish you the best... you are going to do great... great writing. ;-)

Hi yessan. Thanks for your comment. You know I loved all that I learned from Life Coaching but I am such an introvert that I love the research side more than the coaching side. I did my coaching with The Coaching Institute in Melbourne, Australia, though they have a lot of overseas students come there just to do the course. I am a Virgo actually, you know, take everything way seriously, neat little piles of paper everywhere. And if I can't research it then I at least I can clean it. I have just gone through and done almost the first 10 lessons in 2 days and I just want to keep on going. I can't wait to start on the rest of the lessons, and I would love to respond to everyone in the community, but like you I am getting behind in other stuff. So no I have to put my head down and do some writing. Lovely to meet you,

Hey Cate, I wanted to stop by and personally welcome you to WA. Rest assured everything I mentioned about them is true :)

Whether you're here to build a business, a website or just want to learn and make money online, this is the only place that will show you the best ways to do it.

Here are my 2 quick recommendations on getting started out the best possible way:

1. Please complete your account sign setup. This is just a simple 1 minute process that will better help myself and WA know more about you and your goals. I'd like to get to know you better and help you get going.

2. After you've done this, check this page out: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur-certification-getting-started-level-1 (I think Kyle or Carson already recommended this). This is where everyone who joins WA should begin as it will explain everything.

The course is the most important part of WA. It will guide you to success!

And that's it!

Believe me when I say this stuff works. Just follow the instructions and if you have any questions Cate, feel free to leave them by just posting a reply here. I usually respond within 24 hours and will be more than happy to help you out!

One last thing I want to mention:

Currently you're a Starter member of WA. This is completely free and you can do a lot of things such as build 2 free websites, get access to training and the online chat, among other cool perks!

If you see that WA and it's training is something you'd like to continue, I would highly recommend upgrading to the Premium membership. It's usually $47 per month, but if you sign up within the first 7 days of joining WA...

1. You can get a 59% discount ($19 for the first month).

2. I'll send you my personal guide to Reaching Your Financial Independence in 2014. This guide is based on my EXACT profit generating techniques I've used with WA. If you are serious about online business, you need to have this. :)

3. You get access to my personal support, 24-7. If you need help, you can be sure that you can fire any questions my way. I have been in the Internet marketing world since 2006 and have likely seen it all! In short, if you have ANY questions, you can come to me anytime and I will help you out (if I can't, I promise to find you the answer). You can count on that.

Certainly this is up to you Cate. For now just check out the recommended things and see how it works out :)

Talk to you soon!

Vitaliy

Well so far I am finding this really interesting. Yes I really want to build an online business. Six months ago I would have put that in the same category as 'I want to fly to the moon' - however I now actually think an online business will be a little easier to accomplish and that just shows how much I have learned. And I have learned even more today!
