Hey Cathy,
Am curious... why would you not simply use a Pretty Link to redirect to an MLM store instead of complicating issues by creating a subdomain?
No comparison Cathy.
Pretty Links is a plugin so that your link will show as coming from your website.
Bitly links come from their own website and are NOT a preferred link to use in redirecting from your website to ANY other website as that would be considered cloaking.
Pretty Links explained here: How To Use Pretty Links
i prefer to have the direction at the front end of the site, ie party.sitename or shop.sitename personally I fell its clearer for the customer. especially in mlm people want a direct link to the store.
I know I've been off site a few years but I have popped in every now and then and I'm sure Kyle recommended not to use pretty links at one point.
Hey Cathy,
Don't think Kyle ever said to not use Pretty Link to redirect links. In fact, I'm certain Kyle has stated quite the opposite.
I realize that you may not believe me, and I get it... I mean, after all, who am I... yup... but Rob is well know for knowing his stuff.
Here's Rob's tutorial to prove to you what I've been saying and he explains "why" better than I have: What is Pretty Link
Hi Cath,
this community member has a video on subdomain setup, search for: kiliwia62, or,
go to profile and magnifier and type in your question, you will be offered all the answers. I hope it helps.
Greetings,
Slavka 👋
I did this. I went to SiteDomain, Go to Websites > Site Domains, and scroll the list of your domains. Add a Subdomain name, then use that site as domain forwarding to your MLM site. It's been a while since I did this, and it will take effect the next day. Domain Superpowers! Create a Redirect URL for an Affiliate URL on WA Domains It can work for other sites as well
fab thank you. I couldn't find anything in search but knew there would be lots out there for me to watch or read.
Yes, we are an awesome community. Everyone can pitch in and tell you where to find it. I know the feeling about going in circles and trying to find it. I use the magnifying glass at the top of your WA home page. I type in the keyword "how to create a subdomain." I found a lot of different posts about it. One was from 7 years ago that is outdated because the WA interface has changed recently.
if I click the magnifying glass it gives me suggestions and nowhere to actually type a question :-(
Yes, it does. If you click it, you will see a white box at the top left. It will say, search wealthy affiliate. That's where you type in the keywords.
ah found it up in the bar above. I was looking in the box that opened up for somewhere to search! You can tell I've not been on here much this past year :-D
yes, its new interface has changed, thats why. Now, I hope you are going to be here more often. I am following you now.
I was top 10 a few years back but it all got too much and I took a step back. Now Im ready to take it all on again and rebuild and rebrand my sites
That is awesome. I'm glad you are back to rebuild your brand site. I have been here for four years. I can relate to the feeling about how things on this platform got too much for you. I remember that same feeling and like you I took a long hiatus due to my health issues. I look forward to you sharing your journey with us.

Hi,
I have a free site member who has a really cool site that they post to regularly and is building an audience with.
They received and email from team@wealthya
It sounds like it's time to take things to the next level. They need to either upgrade their WA membership to premium or move the website to another hosting company.
I was always led to believe that you could remain on the free plan forever? is this not the case? :-(
You can remain on the free plan forever to follow the first 10 lessons in each course. And read all the posts which are published. It looks like the free website hosting is limited.
It would unfortunately seem to be that way :-(
Thanks Marion I fear we will lose an awesome website x

Free sites being deleted, has anyone heard of this?

I am making some landing pages that will work purely from a link hidden behind a button or bitly link.
The sites would probably be maybe three pages max and then bounce
Instead of using a Site Rubix subdomain (without the SSL certificate) that you don't own you could create your own subdomain on your own dot com. Subdomain on Your Own Dot Com Website
sounds like an awesome solution ty Marion.
Would this slow down to site loading at all though?
x
A subdomain is a completely different site to your regular website. Only the dot com is the same.
The shortening of your link is not the problem, buddy.
Siterubix.com IS a domain, ANYTHING.SiteRubix.com is a sub meaning the same domain is shared by a gazillion people who suck at SEO.
A sub domain of this magnitude like siterubix will wither and die.
thanks Chris, it's not going to be an seo related site as such, just a landing page from a link so I can collect email address before I forward them on to where I want them to be ;-)
Using a bitly link, most people won't notice. The big problem is that you won't have a security certificate.

Does a siterubix com domain look unprofessional?

ah I see, a clever little doo dah in the fabric of things ;-)
cheers for un-raveling the mystery :-)
I think Kyle or Carson or someone on the support team decide this, when a comment is highly relevant in solving an issue.
I'm very interested in seeing more answers to your question, though, I'm not 100% sure.....

can anyone tell me please if the clicks to content pink line on "my stats" graph is internal clicks, external clicks ( outside link source) or a combination of both?

Clicks to content are the clicks your WA blog posts, discussions and trainings are getting, mainly from people within WA. However if you share your WA content on social media, some of the clicks can come from there, as well as from those who find your WA content in Google search results.
To learn more about what each of the WA Affiliate Stats mean, see below link. What Your WA Affiliate Program Stats Mean
Cheers ty. I was never really clear on this one and then a couple of days ago it shot up to over 215 clicks, usually hovers abot 75-120 per day. So am guessing something must have hit google or been shared to create a spike like that!
Yes, that sounds about right. Someone might have shared one of your blogs or a training on social media and it got clicks.
Ah! You mean within your My States graph Cath. Took me a minute or two to figure out what you were speaking of.
Looks to me that Clicks (Content) would be the links to other pages/posts within the same website.
this is in the WA Stats graph on the My Stats page located in the dropdown menu under the plane. Nothing to do with my website.
Within this website ... sorry for the confusion.
Example: members viewing your posts and training.
