Second Income Stream
Today I have been working on another one of my income streams :-)
I do a little erm..."modeling" work for a UK shopping channel :-D
Another day on the telly ;-)
Well it's great fun and I get paid to sit there for an hour doing very little and get paid for it. I get paid per show which includes the time required pre show for makeup etc and after the show for a recap talk. The money is not amazing but hey it's great to be able to say I do Live TV :-)
But guess what? .... I found out yesterday that I could actually affiliate to the Shopping channel !!! So now I can not only get paid for the show but I can actually earn a commission from the products on the show and others too :-)
I mean how many affiliates out there would love to actually be part of an official campaign? I have been doing the show for 4 years and only just found out :-( but hey ho better late than never ;-)
So what I would say is maybe take a look about your home, what have you bought over the internet in the last 6 months that you could find a way of affiliating to some how to earn a commission?
Random huh? well you can create a review page on your site but make it a page and not a post, this way it doesn't appear in your blog roll. Take some great snappy snaps of you using this product and then link to it in the affiliate source. You can then tweet this link and your snappy snap and @name the place you bought it from if it has an account or even @name the manufacturer of the product. People like this will always re-tweet you because it is free publicity! Be cheesy, this is home shopping not affiliate marketing.
Think how many people will be looking for a review of this product and how many people might click your link to purchase, yet this has nothing to do with your site whatsoever.
If you are not comfortable with hiding this at the back of your site then why not use one of your free siterubix sites just for home product reviews?

Yes, I agree. My whole site is based on products I actually use. It started with a few supplements for my cats and will include all cat health and behavior type products I use or try.

Yes. Cat health and behavior products. Supplements, foods, litter, etc. etc. There is a lot of demand since there are a lot more dog sites than cat sites. The supplements work so well even my veterinarian is recommending them now based on my results.
I have not built out the site all the way yet but working on it.
that's great but what I was getting at is to do a review of something that you have bought recently for your home that you can link to and make a review, like maybe an iron, kettle, hoover, hair dryer or something that isn't in your niche.
