BB Tips for writing a newsletter
Are you at the stage where you have subscribers and are writing a newsletter?
Are you getting results from the newsletter? are people visiting the places that you are directing them and are they making purchases?
Now I am not going to give you killer sales lines and phrases that convert here I am just going to give you a simple checklist of things to include in your newsletter. I believe that a newsletter should be just that a newsletter with maybe a click for more info button somewhere rather than a heavy pitch and a buy now option. Those letters/emails are a totally different kind of email/newsletter.
- Make sure it goes out at the same time each month or fortnight or when ever you have pledged for it to go out.
- That it is in a font that can be clearly read.
- You begin with an opening statement.
- Your name and contact details are clearly written at the beginning and the end.
- Include some interesting facts to grab their attention.
- A calendar of upcoming events or posts due to appear on your site.
- Photos, pictures plenty of colour to catch peoples eye.
- Product knowledge
- Success/testimonial stories with your product
Do NOT have
- Messy busy content
- Something that looks like it was written in a rush
- Excuses about delays or no content on the site or anything negative.
- Too crammed together. Leave gaps, give the eye a rest between articles in the newsletter.
Newsletters can easily be created in Canva.com and emailed out to a list or posted to social media as a PDF Download or picture to open and read.
You don't need a list to publish a newsletter to social media. Have a think about it as a way of engaging your followers and likers on Facebook and Twitter and as a way of reconnecting them to your site with a click.
Have some fun
Cath :-)
