Are They Really "Broken Links?"
Hello! I felt compelled to write this post because it can help others who may encounter this situation at some point in the future.
This past Friday, we had experienced very hard rain and strong winds. So, we had an outage for 20 hours with our internet provider. Yes, it was tough not being able to get on the internet for 13 hours! (I slept in between, so that's how it equaled 20 total.)
So, on Saturday, I received an e-mail notification that I had 19 "Broken Links."
I thought to myself, "Oh, no!" I went to check and saw that it said "Connection Failed." I asked several members who were very nice and offered to help, and I truly thank each and every one who offered advice on what I should do to fix these messed up links.
Just a little while ago, I thought to myself that these were, in reality, failed connections and not truly broken links (not "404" message), although I'm not an expert on this. So, I went to the back office (Dashboard) of my website and decided to click on "Not Broken" for several of them. I then went to my website to view, and the horizontal line that had been through each of these affiliate links, was gone! And, I was thrilled! : ) Again, I'm no expert on this subject, but was happy that the idea which came to me worked!
I wanted to share this with members, in the event that this ever happens to you. It is actually not broken ("404"), and if you click on "Not Broken" in this case (with "Connection Failed"), it fixes the problem!
Please click on "Like" if you found this to be of some value. I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions!
Warm regards,
Cathy

I am glad to hear that you got them all figured out and that it wasn't as big of a problem as we thought
Hi Melissa,
It was driving me nuts ... lol! And, I'm glad that I waited a little bit (and God came through ... I did pray to find the solution without having to take a lot of time fixing each one)! I give Him the credit. : )
Thanks so much for ALL your help! You have helped me many times, my friend!
