I'm a newbie here, just starting out building my website. Up to lesson 7 so far. I'm finding it really hard to understand all the SEO stuff. I'm sure there is some good info on this on the site, I just haven't had time to suss it out yet.

I find writing posts for my website really difficult. That damn cursor just sitting there blinking at me. I was wondering if it is allowable to copy articles from another website to mine if I give credit to where the original was posted or is that illegal?. Any one know the answer, please send me a message.

Any way, back to the grindstone. I need to set up a menu on my site. Talk to everyone soon.

Good Question Cat,

You already received the best replies already. I'm just going to say with your business skills and professional background.

You have the experience writing projects on what people need to do and how they should do it.

As Kyle and Carson would say "use your skills you already have and write all your content original."

I say use the talent that you already have, communicate with us as if you are the boss. Because you are the boss in the decisions you will make on your sites.

I hope that helps, plus you're at the best place in all the online world. Many days of success to you here in WA.

Carl

In regards to content writing and this is what happened to me as I am a perfectionist, I was always stressing about having the best content with the best information and delivered in the best way to digest way with the best images....I found you have to get away from the way of thinking. Now, I don't mean sling cah-cah at the digital wall and hope it sticks but look at it this way. When you talk to someone about a topic in person over coffee. Do you stop every sentence grab your phone and search out the best info to reply back to who you are talking to? Of course, you don't, but if there's something you don't know the answer to, then you Google it.

Get a topic to write about. Google your niche or a keyword from your niche and use the alphabet soup technique and I guarantee you on the letter "A" you will have at least 2 topics right away to write about. Look at your competitors or same niche sites, look at what they are writing about. You should have chosen a niche you know about so just seeing their topics, you should have your own opinion about it. Do product reviews, top 10 lists or 101 lists even use your spam folder sort through the titles and get ideas and then do the most important thing of all. Start writing!! Just look already how much I have written and I am not a talker, I am actually a background type of person, but you have to write, you can always edit it later but you have to write!

This is total honesty but how I write, I throw down a few cat treats and then I talk with my cat...no joke. I have the only cat that is an expert on Dogs, sailing, drifting and the Wealthy Affiliate lol. Luckily I have a cat that talks back just like a human she listens and once I stop, she puts a few meows in and stops, then I write and talk, I stop, she picks up. This technique has landed me 3 content writing gigs. Don't be afraid to try different things no matter how crazy it may seem...like talking with your cat. The worst thing you can do is simply not write, not take action.

Thank you very much for your feedback. It's beneficial.

How about using other people's articles as inspiration for writing your own?
For example, read the article, then sit back and work out what you think about it, given the knowledge you already possess on the subject.

Think about what you could add to it.

Think about whether you actually agree or disagree with it, and why.

Think about how you could apply that information in the article to something else.

There are many ways to use someone else's content without cutting/pasting/linking it on your site. You can always provide a link to the original as well, if you think it's relevant.

I hope that helps, slightly!

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciated it. Your ideas are very constructive.

I think now after being here since August that SEO needs paying attention to. I still don't think I have a good grip on it. Next have a look at the site content tab in Site Rubix. Read the training on it and try using it if you haven't already

Thanks for the feedback. You're right SEO is essential. I have to go to my websites and check it out.

Don't copy others work not very ethical, you get the general idea from other site but you have to have original content. As for SEO just follow the training. I have a post on the subject but not sure if it's ethical for me to post the link but anyhow here it is https://marting528.com/seo-explained check it see if it answer some question.

Thanks for the feedback. It's appreciated. Thanks also for the link. I will check it out.
