What Writing Goals Have You Set For Yourself?

We are in the business of writing.

You can add all the frills you want to it but that is our primary business. So, what writing goals have you set for yourself, for the week, month or year?

The process for getting our business up and running is simple:

  1. Launch your website.
  2. Write quality content to attract organic traffic.
  3. Promote your quality content to continue to grow your organic traffic.

Use the Resources That You Pay For

You guessed it!

Writing quality content.

Too quickly and too often, we tend to want to fast-track this process. Many of us become trapped in the bucket of promoting too quickly.

If you are like me, an online solopreneur, for now, prioritizing is critical. Thankfully, WA has tools to help you achieve your goals.

One of the resources that I use frequently is the Writing Stats & Goals in Site Content.

That takes you onto the Stats & Goals page.

There you can view all of your writing statistics and get a sense of your progress and what you would like to improve on.

Now that I have achieved a good rhythm with my writing for 2021, I have set myself some goals to achieve my target of 300 blog posts for my websites.

The timeline is until 31 August 2021. At that juncture, I will reassess and see whether I need to make any changes. With really good progress, I may even have to raise the bar a little.

We have many tools and resources and more training than we could ever get through, right here at WA.

Make sure that you use them to give you a good competitive advantage!

I love that your first point was about quality over speed. While I understand how some people are very proud about the volume they crank out, I always worry that unless they are very, very good writers, the quality was the first thing that suffered. Volume of content may impress Google, but unless it impresses your readers, you won't make a dime!

I am with Michael; goals are not my strong suit. I prefer making lists and then crossing things off the list as I complete them.

I suppose it is similar to a goal without the pressure. I know this makes it easier in some ways to circumvent the "goal," but it does not go away until it is crossed off the list.

Alex

The system is not important, Alex.
What is MOST important is that you achieve your goals.

I wish you continued success.
Cassi

Cassi knowing you that bar will be raised many times over the year as I can see you surpassing it constantly.
Along with your determination to achieve your goals I know you will in fact you already are successful in my eyes.

That’s a wonderful goal!
I personally have a goal of writing 5 reviews and 5 keyword rich articles a week as I am new to blogging.
Thanks for the tip about looking at your writing stats. I’m definitely going to use that feature more!
Best of luck as you work on your goal!

You are welcome, Tina.

We have excellent tools at WA and should be making better use of them.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Cassi, although I do believe that having goals is important, I am not very good at making them.
For me, I guess I think there is a fear of not being successful in achieving those goals. My subconscious sometimes is not my best friend. WA has given me the opportunity to re-evaluate a lot of things in my life.

Thank you for the share Cassi.

All the very best,
Michael

You deserve to be successful, Michael!
Always remember that.

You have all the support that you need right here at WA.

Cassi

Thank you, Cassi. Much appreciated.

It does not matter if you reach your goal. A goal set a direction. And as long as you are going in the right direction that is what matters.

Right now, Cassi, no goals, just whatever I am able to write with each new day I am allowed! Excellent post!

Jeff

That's fine, Jeff.

I know that you have plans that are very different to mine.

Thank you for sharing
Cassi

Thanks, Cassi, and you are very welcome!
