Where My Passion Lies

Yesterday was such an uncomfortable and disorienting feeling. From early in the morning and all through the day I had issues trying to log in and could not understand why or what was happening. By the early afternoon, I started to ask myself: What would life be like without Wealthy Affiliate (WA)?

I could not answer. Actually, I did not want to answer.

As far as I am concerned, there can be no life without WA. I feel that strongly and passionate about our platform but, more so, about our WA Community.

A Black Hole

When I was able to access the platform and started to navigate to try to find out what was happening, I noticed that many of the blog posts' header banners were black.

No photos were visible. That did not seem right. Something was definitely wrong.

Although I knew that whatever it was would soon be sorted out, I could not shake off the feeling of restricted access.

We are in the mountains this weekend. Internet access is limited and that, naturally, made the situation worse for me.

Batman To The Rescue

It was not until very late evening that I was able to ascertain what was happening, after reading Chrystopher's post about our Wildcard SSL Certificate and comments throughout the WA Community.

What a life saver!

I breathed a sigh of relief, closed my laptop and moved on to games night with the family.

Back To Normal

I did a brief check-in this morning and it seems that life is returning to normal at WA. 🙂 That makes me really happy.

It is great to see everyone here, check in at Live Chat - Shannon off to work, Stella, Stephen and Nicole busy supporting and responding to questions, Joe talking about Pie In The Sky! and Andy reminding us that Old Content Pays Current Day Commissions.

I checked in with a few New Members and welcomed them to the best WWW Community I know.

I am off for some family Sunday time and will spend some time this afternoon enjoying my WA reading.

It's wonderful to be back!

Did you have issues or thoughts like this yesterday?

Have you ever thought about life without WA?

Please share, if you have.

Enjoy a peaceful Sunday.

Good Morning Cassi,

I had the same issues and to answer your question, well, what can I say? I grew up without tv, lots of books and classical music and I loved it. Now, having a computer and even 3 websites, my life has changed considerably. Would I prefer not to have it? No, but my days have become too short. Oh, well, nothing is perfect.

Greetings from the south of Spain,

Taetske

Good morning, Taetske.

So good to hear from you. 🙂

I agree, we would adapt but life is so much better when we can be in touch with our WA Family.

Thank you for being in touch.
Cassi

It was a difficult day. I initially thought I was being hacked. Today is a new one! I even had issues with Site Support who are usually excellent but I`m guessing they were busy trying to resolve lots of issues. Chrys`s advice was so helpful.

But lessons learnt I think. There should have been a message sent to all members warning them of possible disruption whilst the changes were taking place.

Wishing you a profitable and successful day.

Like you, I am passionate about WA so I fully agree. I can`t imagine my life and business without WA now!

Trevor

I agree, Trevor.
A message in anticipation would have given us a cushion to rest on while things were happening.

However, I can only imagine the enormity of having to manage all these domains and websites on the WA platform.
There will always be issues.

Coming from IT, I understand and empathise.

Still no other place I would rather be. 🙂

Have a good day.

Not sure why I keep thinking of the phrase "You're only as good as your last...."
That in turn reminds me of "One Cannot Step Twice in the Same River." Coutesy of Heraclitus.
WA is a fast flowing torrent and we are swept along by its sheer force, should we grasp a low hanging branch or, as some do, manage to find one of the river's banks, then it still carries on, irrespective.
As does life, which is in a constant state of flux, all we have control of is ourselves, whether we are part of the river or not.

The sheer beauty f those words, Twack.
A great way to start my morning and week.

Very well said.
Thank you.

Cassi

You're always very welcome Cassi, I hope your day and week continues to be exceptional.

Much appriciated, Twack.

All going well so far.
Pushing forward with my content and social media implementations.
So, a lot of research.

Good work for this rainy day here.

Have a good one.

A few thousands miles apart but sharing the same miserable weather. Hope it clears up for tomorrow, automobile fun and frolics are on the agenda. Sigh.

Hey Cassi,

It's awesome to hear how WA has become part of your routine and your life! I've lived and breathed WA since we started it back in 2005 and I know that I can speak for Kyle as well that he feels the same. Our wonderful platform has taken on a life of its own over the years and it's YOU and the folks in the community that make it such a safe and helpful placee to learn to build an online business.

The community at WA is why we continue to push and evolve...very soon you will see our latest platform update, one that we are proud of and that will allow better communication and camaraderie within the community.

Life without WA is not something I've ever considered. We're continually moving the platform forward with the goal of continuing to be the ONLY place that folks need online to build a real online business.

Great to hear that you had some family time while our SSL issue persisted. I was personally with my wife and kids dirt biking when the alarms went off. I was able to take a quick break, jump online and help our incredible team of engineers get things back in order relatively quickly. No matter how big, or how small a company is, there are always unforeseen things that can happen when updates are made.

We're back online and looking ahead to the coming weeks when we will be releasing some exciting things to the WA community.

Carson

I have tried life without WA Cassi. It was not a good experience. I missed the comradery and the humor. There is always something posted to cheer me up.

Derek

So very true, Derek.
I am not even going to tryt it.
