Somehow I feel that, sooner or later, the plague that is cancer affects each one of us.

If you do not have cancer, consider yourself blessed and darn lucky. However, I am certain that you know at least one person who has or had cancer.

Today is World Cancer Day.

I was reflecting on this and our current pandemic and, of course, went to the statistics. Here's what I found:

"In 2017, 9.6 million people are estimated to have died from the various forms of cancer. Every sixth death in the world is due to cancer, making it the second leading cause of death – second only to cardiovascular diseases."

Every 6th death!!

That is mind-boggling!

What Will You Do To Raise Awareness?

There are many campaigns and events around the world that will, today, raise the awareness of cancer.

Many people will wear their pink ribbons to support and in memory of a friend, coworker or loved one.

I know a few people who died from cancer and many more who survived. Some are living in remission.

Today I will celebrate them and reach out to those still alive to commend them for their strength and courage.

Cancer is a debilitating and cruel disease and I can never imagine the pain and struggle that these people carry as they battle with it.

If you are blessed with good health, take a moment to reflect on gratitude and continue to attract and manifest your best health.

Take some time today to reflect on the meaning of this auspicious day and share any experiences you may have had.

I always pray that some smart genius somewhere will find the end-all-be-all cure for this dread of an ailment. For me I always pass by a cancer treatment center when going back home from work practically every day so I always hope and pray a cure will surface in our life time, the sooner the better

You and me and millions of other people in the world, Chris.

Thank you for sharing Cassi. It is an absolute plague of a disease and you are so right. At so point it does affect us all in one way or another. Hopefully some day there will be a cure for this awful disease that causes so much sadness and pain.

Let's keep putting positive energy out there, Mairi.

Cancer in several different forms has been part of our family experience for the last several decades. It is devastating and cuts life short developing for no apparent reason with no identifiable prevention or cure. All we do is support each other, before and after, no matter the result and donate to research.

Jim, I can relate very well.

My Mum was also a Nurse/Midwife, so I have experienced what the disease does up close.

We will continue to do what we can.
