Remember That You Can CHOOSE To Change Your Course

Do you know that you can choose to change your course?

I have been busy. REALLY busy, this past month.

Nothing to worry about and all good. While playing plentifully with Prince Partha's Potions, I made some major decisions to rethink, realign, refocus and redirect my time and efforts.

It is so very important to understand that you are building your business and you can therefore choose to change your course if you see the need to.

Note that I said IF you see the need to. This makes the assumption that you are in control of your business and paying close attention to your progress and results.

It's All About Trial And Error

My business is still in the genesis stage. Now a Sophomore in year 2 of building, I refuse to bow to the pressure of the success of others and wanting quick fixes or overnight success.

None of those things is sustainable and you shouldn't have those expectations. They will distract you from building your own business.

You must have the resilience to try, try and fail, try again, change course if you must and keep moving forward.

Continuity - The #1 Failure In Our Business

Actually, this is the number 1 failure in life but it is critical in our business.

Internet Live Stats reminds us that "there are over 1.5 billion websites on the world wide web today. Of these, less than 200 million are active."

Think about that!

LESS THAN 13% ARE ACTIVE!

87% of websites were started and not continued, left to die a natural death.

The internet is a literal graveyard.

Are you going to allow your website(s) to be buried in that graveyard?

I would like to think not.

That's why you are here right?

To make a difference in your life and in the world?

To build a legacy?

Keep Pushing Through

No one ever told you it would be easy, so erase that expectation.

Great point, Cassie!
I've been working on a complete overhaul before my site is added to the graveyard.
I'm on information overload, and need to pick one thing and get that done.
Shamefully, I've been a member for 3 1/2 years, and come my 4th year? ...I really need to "S--- or get off te pot!" LOL
ACTION! Change one degree a day to turn things around.
Thank you, for some much needed inspiration.
Best!
Barb

You are welcome, Barb.

The thing is, unlike an offline business that has been under lock and key for years, it is rather easy to "reopen" your online business and get on with it.

I trust that you will not allow your 3 1/2 years to go to waste. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a good week.

Cassi

I adjust monthly to changing demand and circumstances in my physical business, and have had to for almost 30 years, Cassi! This is no different, but sadly, all my sites are currently in that graveyard, but I will be resurrecting one very soon! Thanks for this excellent post, and enjoy the rest of your day!

Jeff

Jeff, unlike an offline business, resurrecting an online business in the internet graveyard is much easier.
It never really dies but rather hibernates and waits to be lifted.

And remember, everything happens at the right time. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope that you are enjoying a good Sunday.

Cassi

Oh, Jeff! Thank you! I'm not alone!
At least you've still been writing.
Good to see you< Jeffery!
Barb

Thank you for the affirmation, Cassi!๐Ÿ˜Ž

Jeff

No, Barb! You are not alone! I let the websites sit while I am producing the content that I wish to promote with them. (ie. my books) Moreover, even though they are sitting the domains continue to age, which is a good thing in my view!)

Great to hear from you!

Jeff

You are very welcome, Jeff.

Have a great week!

Cassi

Thanks, Cassi! You as well, my friend!

Jeff

Thank you, Jeff.

You're welcome, Cassi!

Jeff

Hello Cassi,

Thank you for your very wise words, Cassi, they are always appreciated.

You're making some very valid points here. It's interesting that you are using the word "if", when I'm really busy it sometimes seems like things can feel out of control. The point is that I have a choice to use the "if factor"! I can choose to change things and make things better "if" I want to put that extra effort in!

I couldn't agree with you more, failure is a kind of success! All the great success stories we hear at Wealthy Affiliate and with other entrepreneurs, we know that they have all had failures, but refused to give up.

I'm not at all surprised that 87% of websites are in the graveyard, I believe there are two main reasons for this. One of the reasons is that people think it's easy to have an online business and literally want success overnight. The other reason is that people are not willing to push forward, they want to see instant results. I'm afraid this is not possible.

And a bonus point; another reason is that some people like to dream about success, but will never ever take action! There are a lot of people like that!

I really like your action points at the end of your blog post, Cassi, these are great recommendations.

I know that you will be successful Cassi, as I can see that you know where you're going and you understand the power of the Internet. I really think the majority of people do not understand the power of the Internet and just really do not get the whole Internet thing! I can see that you get it 100%, you will be highly successful.

I often refer to the Internet as the businessman's best friend. I was able to take my off-line business from 0 to 10 K plus a month in eight months. I know this would not have been possible without utilising the power of the Internet.

Have a great day.

Roy

Roy, you always take your time to read, understand, analyse and provide much-added value.

All your points are clear and very valid.

Working for the long-haul is paramount in our business.
Only with that mindset will we be able to harness and enjoy all the successes that the internet offers.

Thank you for sharing.

Cassi

Good morning Cassi,

I hope you're doing well and enjoy the weekend.

I do try and read things carefully, it's good to be able to help and learn from others.

Even after seeing the power of the Internet 17 years ago, it still utterly amazes me! The potential of the Internet is amazing, follow the training, take action and it will happen!

Have a great day,

Roy

Good morning, Roy!

The internet IS that simple, as you say.
That makes it all the more worthwhile.

As Kyle always say, there is no rocket science here. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great week!

Cassi

Good morning Cassi,

Thank you for your reply, I trust you're doing well.

I find it absolutely amazing that we can literally put any question into Google and receive an answer! When used properly and wisely, the Internet is such a useful tool.

I must admit I hadn't heard Kyle's saying, but it makes sense!

All the best.

Roy

Roy, Kyle says it often as a reminder that what we do is fairly uncomplicated.
It does require stick-to-it-iveness though.

Have a great day!

Cassi

Good morning Cassi,

I hope your week is going well.

Kyle's saying sounds great and true, as humans, we can so often overcomplicate things, I don't know why we have a tendency to do this!? I guess some things we just think are more difficult than they really are!

Before I joined Wealthy Affiliate I was a member of a much smaller Internet marketing membership website. In fact, for a period of time, I was a member of both, that was too much! One of the owners famous words were; "Don't Overcomplicate"! This is so true and lines up with exactly what Kyle is saying. I often think about this man's words!

I hear what you're saying, we need to stick to a plan.

Have a great day,

Roy

I love to keep it simple, Roy.

It makes life so much easier and keeps things in a clearer perspective.

Have a good day and think you for sharing.

Cassi

Good morning Cassi,

I do hope your week is going well.

Keeping it simple definitely works for me, I see far too many people over complicating their lives! Having said this, I do like bells and whistles and lots of functionality on vehicles! I'm not sure why, maybe it's good play value for a man!

Have a great weekend.

Roy

Absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying the fruits of your labour, Roy.
I enjoy a good vehicle and the comfort and safety that it brings.

Once we do not become obsessed with money and position it as our be all and end all, we are good to go.

Do enjoy your weekend and thank you for your support.

Cassi

Good morning Cassi,

My apologies for the delayed reply, I hope you're doing well.

I hear you, I often think enjoying the fruits of our labour encourages me to push forward further. Sometimes it's hard to get the balance right with life, we definitely don't want to become obsessed with money, this is not good. But at the same time, we need to live.

I often think when we enjoy our job the money comes in much more naturally.

Wishing you a great day.

Roy

Roy, this resonates:

"I often think when we enjoy our job the money comes in much more naturally."

I could not agree more!

Do have an enjoyable and productive day.

Cassi

Fantastic post - I am working as hard as I can to be in that 13% permanently. We rise and fall at times in many avenues of life- but in this adventure we can rise, fall and change direction- and thus never stop if we so choose. Lovely ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘

So very well summarised, Chris.

Thank you.
Cassi

What is there left to add to this, Cassi? I think you have made an excellent summary of the journey we all are participating in, no matter what our goals are with an online business๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Never let the "sword" down. Keep pushing and yes it will hurt and feel overwhelming in between, but that is part of the game and the learning curve.

We can all do this! Letยดs buckle up and grab a firm hold on that success!!

Roy

So very well said and summarised, Roy.

We must be resilient and push past the pain and tough points.
Success will meet us.

Thank you for sharing.

Cassi

My pleasure, Cassi ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Roy
