Over 10,000 Pinterest Impressions - Link Clicks On The Rise
How Pinterest Got Started
Pinterest was started in June 2010, just 10 years ago.
Did you know that after 3 months of launching, Ben Silbermann, (who left his job to start the site), only had 3,000 accounts registered? This was not considered a success of any kind in the world of Silicon Valley.
To make matters worse, the focus was on inspiration and images, not real-time communication like Twitter and Facebook. He and his co-founders were not techies either and they got rejected many times by the Silicon Venture capitalists.
The first few years were tough but they were determined and persevered.
Today, Pinterest is the 3rd-largest source of referral traffic on the World Wide Web!
Pin-It-Forward
Does that sound familiar?
In the very early days, Ben and his co-founders would host meet ups with their fans to get feedback about the site and to also seek their help.
They set up a campaign called "Pin-It-Forward". People created pin boards and then invited their friends to do the same. It was this that inspired them to invest in building their user base and connecting with their users.
They focused on building a shared community and a following.
Do you see where I am going with this?
Our Ethos Is Aligned
I prefer to do business with people and organisations who are aligned with my personal and professional ethos. It is that ethos which has resulted in me investing in our Wealthy Affiliate (WA) Platform and Community for the very long-term.
WA is a legacy that I will pass on to my daughter.
In researching the history and philosophy of Pinterest, I realise that they are aligned with our ethos - Pay-It-Forward = Pin-It-Forward.
That entices me. 🙂
5-Figure Stats
In reviewing my Stats this morning, I noticed some increased traffic to my website. It took me a while but I eventually traced the activity back to Pinterest.
My Pins, those that I have created, are being saved more. Link clicks to my website are also on a sharp rise. That's 44 Link Clicks in the past 7 days. It makes me quite happy.
The same is occurring with my personal brand, Cassi Of Troy, which was recently launched:

Traffic Feeds You
Traffic to your websites brings you income. Income feeds you. It therefore makes sense to invest some of your time into building your organic traffic as early as possible.
Thanks to our successful WA Members like Ferra and Roy, I have been investing in Pinterest and it is starting to pay off.
Once again, I encourage you to do Jay's training on Pinterest, set up some schedules and be as consistent with Social Media as you are with your writing.

Absolutely. There us some excellent training, too...Ive saved the emails from when people jumped on the pinterest wagon, inspired by Kyle's pinterest post here on WA.

I took my time to look around, do my research and REALLY understand what Pinterest is about.
What I also find attractive is the fact that statistically, it is female-driven.
It is easy for me to grasp what will work and what will not.

My own brand roysinOnline has 2.9K impressions at the moment, with not being my focus niche before the start of October. My two other niches have the following numbers:
Coffee, beer and gadgets are at 2K impressions, down from16K at the most. The reason for the fall in impressions is lack of activity from my side, due to re-planning my buisness and other priorities for most of September. But I am back to more engagement on more consistent pinning again for this niche as well as my MMO niche
The pets niche is still suspended by Pinterest. It is a pity as I had a lot of impressions on that Pinterest account almost 25K, when it was suspended.
In the meantime, I am learning Instagram for that niche. Instagram is working quite well. It is slower than Pinterest in getting followers but has a steady rise in engagement and traffic. form a couple of months with consistency on Instagram I have 315 followers, with a rise in engagement the last 7 days of 62,5%!
Bottom line is consistent pinning and posting on Pinterest and Instagram each week, on a daily basis will pick the Impressions and traffic back up again.

I have seen quite a few members mentioning Pinterest as a major portion of their trafffic. It's also a nice place to be, I mean it's not frenzied.
I have nothing to share at present 😭 but only because I recently removed 90% of my pins and started again, very liberating.
I agree with you, Twack.
It is not frenzied at all.
You can relax, browse and connect at your leisure.
The traffic though, once you find your tribe, is refreshing.
