DISCLAIMER:

This blog post is not for the fainthearted. It is not a soft, go-easy post either. If you are REALLY serious about establishing yourself online, learning, DOING and achieving success then read on.

This is about how 1¾ year (21 months) in Wealthy Affiliate (WA) has totally changed MY life Script. That is some serious stuff right there!

Are you in WA to dabble or pass the time? Then this may not be for you. But then again, it could change your script. (See what I did there?! 😉)

Also remember, my business model may be different to yours. You should have a clear business strategy for what you want to achieve.

Where I Am At Now

21 months - 1¾ year - have passed since I joined WA on that fateful Sunday while looking for coffee on the internet.

As I sit overlooking our city's Savannah watching the rain clouds set over the Northern Range and battle with the sun for the pride of place, I know that they will soon be bringing blessings from above.

It reminds me of the dichotomy of life's journey.

You have to climb the mountains and battle with what may first feel uncomfortable and challenging to get to the top and appreciate the view.

Today, I am not yet at the top of my mountain. I am still climbing. However, I no longer struggle or view any part of this journey as a challenge.

Every step is embraced.

It did not start out that way.

Start Where You Are

When I started here, I was an inexperienced, introverted novice. It took a lot of courage to write my 1st blog post and put myself out there. I received 16 comments and 14 likes. I was unknown.

Even the photo I used on my WA Profile, in the beginning, gave very little away about who I was.

I am still introverted but with a bucket full of experience that makes me more confident, resourceful, supportive and valuable.

Bear that in mind as you travel along your journey.

Almost every facet of what you learn here has the potential to earn income for you and help you to build an admirable and sustainable business online.

It is all up to you.

Just make sure to appreciate your starting point, measure your growth and skill level and give yourself recognition for your achievements and newfound skills.

The most important thing is to start - start where YOU are.

1 Year Felt Like 3 Years

After many long days and nights, a lot of trials and errors and fearless determination, I was able to celebrate good success after 1 year.

I was not yet able to leave my day job, but I saw income coming in and growing from multiple income sources. That excited me and gave me the reassurance I needed to keep pushing forward.

And push forward I did.

That 1st year really did feel like 3 years. My financial investment in WA had to pay off multiple times over. That was the promise IF I did the work.

My approach was like doing time in prison. I wanted to get released early for good behaviour. I was seeing so many people come and go in WA with their hands empty and I did not want that to be me.

I was also seeing a lot of people who spent time in WA but appeared not to be building their online business and not earning any income.

I did not want that to be me either.

I wanted to eat, sleep and drink success and I hit all the markers in my 1st year.

In My 2nd Year, I Took Control

As I said, I took my 1st year and made it 3. That was my choice. This was serious business, I had invested a lot of money, time and effort into it and my strategic plan contained some aggressive returns on my investments (ROI).

Failure is not a word in my vocabulary. That is when you give up.

Failing!?

That's another story. That is how I learn and what makes me charge higher consulting and coaching fees as I move forward. 😉

After 18 months of being a dedicated member of WA, I was celebrating the proximity of a 6-figure online income and the start of the implementation of my medium-term strategies.

My brand, Cassi Of Troy, is becoming better known for online how to's. The lead element in there is that I have done it so now I can help others do the same and also provide them with a safe and supportive environment in which to do it.

I have still not mastered everything and probably will not. I do not want to either. I can outsource the nitty-gritty stuff and the stuff I no longer want to do. When I do that now, I understand what I need and demand what I expect.

What is more important is that:

  • I have walked the road.
  • I am here for the long haul.
  • I am earning a consistent sustainable income.
  • My brand is being recognised and talked about.
  • People are reaching out to follow me and pay for my knowledge and skills.
  • I continue to learn, strengthen my skills and build my talent bank.
  • My income portfolio is diversified.

The Growth and Change Continue

In 3 months time, I will be starting my Junior Year at Wealthy Affiliate University. I plan to roll into my Senior Year with some solid Affiliate Marketing achievements under my belt.

Prince Partha's Potions are helping me with that and I will share how that journey is unfolding in upcoming blog posts.

For now, at this rest point, I have taken the opportunity to do some brand uplift.

You will see some new photographs and a logo that truly represents me, my brand strategy and objectives.

Growth is my vision and continuing to change my script is the mission.

Great read actually cleared up some of my thoughts. Helped me refocus on the long haul thank you

You are welcome, John.

Well done Cassi!

I see it's really important to have goals and stick to them...I've fallen off the bandwagon a few times, but know that affiliate marketing works.

Having the WA family to keep me inspired, all I have to do is put my nose to the grind and not look up until success happens. I know I'm close to it.

It's just about consistency and not falling for shiny buttons on the net.

Once again, Cassi - Well Done!

Bang on here, Stella!

"It's just about consistency and not falling for shiny buttons on the net."

Stick to that and you will be well on your way.

Cassi

Thanks Cassi for sharing! Very encouraging!

Are you doing the online marketing work full time & were/are you able to quit a full-time job to do it? I'm still learning what is possible in this line of work & it still doesn't seem possible to me......but.....there seem to be a lot of people in WA that speak/lean towards the opposite so I am still really intrigued by all of this. I am learning like a sponge & putting in the work where I have time between my full-time day job & personal life but really liking it so far! If this is too personal, no worry, just trying to understand how all of this has helped people in various ways reach their goals, etc. Ultimately I would LOVE the idea of being 'self-employed' and doing something to be my own boss (if you will) but in the meantime, just looking to hone my skills & learn & maybe eventually just supplement my income slightly...

Any advice/thoughts?.....thank you again for sharing! Really helps us newbies.... :)

Lori, you sound as though you are where I started in 2019 when I joined WA.

One difference perhaps.
Coming from the IT world, I was very aware of some of the possibilities of working online.
WA opened my eyes a lot though.

My suggestion though, given that you have only been here for a couple of weeks, is to get on with your OEC training.
Inside of those levels is many gold coins that you can leverage later to frame your online business.

Because I was already in the space somewhat, it was easier for me to use what I was learning to network and get contracts to provide online services.
So things like writing, SEO and keyword research and website hosting and management came easily.

As I said, start where you are.
Keep learning and start stepping out, one foot at a time.

PM me if there is anything else that I can help you with.

Cassi

Gottcha, thank you! It seems there are alot of possibilities so I am encouraged. I'm starting out looking for a little supplemental income but if a full-time income are possible I am really open to that too. I've always wanted to be self-employed & be my own boss & seems like there may be options here if you work hard & play smart but fair. Anyway, thx for the advice & good luck to you also! :)

You are very welcome, Lori.

The main thing is that you are in the right place.
From WA, all the possibilities and frameworks are available to you.

You can even start earning some income right here.

Cassi

Congrats Cassi for that uplifting and inspiring post. I have been at WA for the past 12mths and it has been very challenging, like you said I have seen people come people and people go but I have said to myself I’m here to stay.

Now I have you to make money to support my charity, I ask myself is there something wrong I’m doing? Could I get some insight please. Thank you

Hi Elodie,

I will PM you and see how I may be able to assist you.

Cassi

Thank you, really appreciate it will look forward to that.

HI Cassi please don't forget to PM me. Thank you just a reminder.

Hi Elodie,

I did PM.
Will check and see what happened.

Cassi

HI Cassi sorry to be a bother but the PM didn't come thru.

Not sure if is on my end.

Look at YOU.

Looking all professional, sensible, and as though butter wouldn't melt in your new profile pic (that's not the Cassi I know, Lolol).

I know some may hate me for saying this, but I always view 2 years on a "niche website" as a good marker.

Basically, if you've been doing things right, if you've been proactive and productive, you should be seeing huge monthly traffic and mofr-or-less be earning a full-time income.

I know you are approaching this from a slightly different angle to the "conventional" niche affiliate marketing blogging/website protocol, but that's what being an entrepreneur is all about.

There is no one-size-fits-all.

There is NOT only one way of doing things.

Plus, as you know, you have to be willing to work hard and to take risks.

Your progress has been absolutely phenomenal.

I can't wait to read your progress reports in another 21 months.

One thing that has always struck me about you is how humble you are.

So, when you're all Rich and Famous in about another 2-3 years, and we mention you in the same breath as Pat Flynn, Neil Patel, Kyle Loudoun, and Brian Dean - will you have forgotten us?

How Rude!!

Well done Cassi, the girl done good.

Partha

Well said.

Thank you, Maxine.

We need a "love" or "hug" button at WA, Prince of Potions.

Wow!
Those words brought tears and I am happy to say that.

You are right.

I approached "this from a slightly different angle to the 'conventional' niche affiliate marketing blogging/website protocol.

For me, there was no going back and I came to WA with a "do or die" fearless determination.

Hell!
I had pretty much kicked my country's business community and politicians in the face and backside becoming very vocal about our corruption and failures!

When you take a stand like that, you have to be able to feed yourself and your child.

Plus, coming from the world of systems and computer programming, I do admit that I took quickly to many things.

But you, you are the sugar in my cake mix AND the icing on top.
JUST when I needed it, you can along and literally handed me everything I need for Phase II.

I am determined to make you proud.

And the answer is "YES!""!!
I will always be loyal to the Crown. 🙂😉

Thank you, Partha.

Cassi

Cassi, I am not a long talker. My words are limited because of my disability.

Girlfriend, I am so proud of you. I don't know what to say other than, Don't Stop Until You Get Where You Want To Be!

Jah Bless You Sisthren!

Yessi,
Empress Xine

Maxine, I totally understand and I appreciate even more your kind words, encouragement and support.

We are Caribbean Gals!
We support each other. 🙂

Know that I am here whenever you need support.

Thank you!
Cassi

Thank you Cassi of Troy. You are dynamic! I know what I can't do , you will to the moon and back. Stay in the lime lights and NEVER EVER GIVE UP!

Maxine

I really appreciate your kind words, Maxine!

Thank you!
Cassi

You're mot welcome Cassi of Troy!

Onwards Upwards!

Maxine

🙂
