Doing This 1 Thing Will Reduce Your DiStress

Feeling Buried?


If nothing else, 2020 has been - and continues to be - distressing for many. With the many changes currently on our doorsteps, it can feel as though you are buried, unable to see the light to find your way again.

To make matters worse, you have made a decision to:

  • learn new skills as an Affiliate Marketer,
  • begin a different career,
  • start an online business,
  • start writing and engaging others.

Just the tip of the iceberg because, when you signed up for this, you had no idea what you were getting into!

There is just so much to do. How do you get on top of it all?

EuStress Not DiStress


There is a positive side to stress. The word has been beaten about so much that many people are not aware of the fact without stress, we would have no reason for living.

Yes! That is true!


EuStress is actually good, beneficial stress. It is the kind of stress that gets us up, moving and heading towards our goals and objectives with a positive expectation.

When you are working on improving yourself or learning a new skill that you enjoy, that is EuStress at work. You may not feel like it sometimes, but you are committed to your outcome and where you want to go.

You see, feel and hear the benefits of putting in the effort. Your behaviour is congruent and everything is working together for your benefit.

There is a lot of EuStress for us at Wealthy Affiliate (WA).

  • OEC and Bootcamp training.
  • Friday date nights with Jay.
  • Receiving likes and comments on our WA Posts.
  • Paying it forward to help members
  • Getting help when we need it.
  • Seeing our websites grow and our blog posts rank.
  • Earning commissions
  • Simply chatting with one of our members over a cuppa.

We can flip the script and use the EuStress to our advantage.

Which leads me to that 1 thing I want to share with you.

Stop Procrastinating!


There is a direct - negative - correlation between DiStress and procrastination. It reduces your output, both quality and quantity. The reason for that is obvious.


When you procrastinate, you allow things to fester and grow in size until they become overwhelming and debilitating. Just because you have stopped or chosen not to do something, it does not mean that it is just going to sit there and wait for you to get back to it.

Things move along all around you. The time that you would have had at your disposal is now gone, never to be regained. So, you now have to do more with less time.

And that is where DiStress sets in!

Improve Your Action


Taking action and throwing procrastination away can take your DiStress to zero - 0!

So, start by improving your relationship with time and how you manage yours.

Set daily goals and objectives and commit to getting them done. Stay away from over stacking that list. Be realistic and begin with what is most important.

Soon, you will begin to see some marked improvements in your DiStress.

Thank you for the motivation, inspiration and the "kick-in the-butt", Cassi 😄.

This week has been a week of "DiStress" on my part. The last two days has been non-productive both in my daytime job and the online business building....well, almost non-productive.

Hmmm, actually when reviewing the week just now, reading your blog post, I got loads of stuff done. I have had help from fabulous Sean Bennick in creating great logos for my websites and my new personal company.I have attended a new fantastic coaching event with Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi . I have learned quite a bit about Instagram and Pinterest from the Tailwind team.

But strangely enough, I have the feeling of DiStress, until I started thinking a bit about what I have accomplished this week.

I actually had some good progress in my daytime job as well.
The imortant lesson on my part is to think throught what I actually have completed and done during these 7 days.
And the best part, is that I have had a lot of family time in all this as well😃

Roy, that is a common trap that we all fall into.
I understand fully.
It often just seems to fall in your lap and your take yourself down a path of emotional heaviness.

It happens to me off and on.

1 important activity helps me - my jot book (as I call it).
A little blue book that I do my daily jottings in - what I have to get done, what is most important, how I am feeling, key thoughts, health and, just before I close my eyes, what I am grateful for.

That keeps me VERY grounded.

You are accomplishing A LOT!
I am certain those Tony Robbins sessions are helping big time.
They are helping me a whole lot and connecting me to some amazing people.

I am VERY grateful to you for referring me. 🤗

And family - keep them close.
They are our lighthouse and will forever guide us towards what is important.

Yes, it's true Cassi that in WA we have a lot of EUSTRESS, because in here we are full encouragement and hope that we will all be having a brighter future in online business as long as we don't stop believing that we can make it. I remembered about the word EU that you add to stress which means good or well that's the name EUGENE means "EU-WELL" and "GENE-BORN" so EUGENE means WELL BORN.

I heard this long ago when I was working and stressed to the max. If you notice the operative word "heard". I never did find that "good" stress although I do believe it exists.

You're certainly right about procrastination. When I procrastinate on a task, it becomes bigger and bigger in my mind. Here again, back to that Frog!!! 😂
