Hi Marisa, there is an easy move process if you're moving a siterubix website to your own domain: How to Transfer a SiteRubix Website to Your Own Domain And your rankings should recover quickly. Long term, it is the best move.
Hi Vitaliy.
Many thanks for your advice.
It is not a siterubix site. I did transfer a siterubix to my domain once and that was easy.
This is a new domain replacing an old one.
Good to know that rankings can be recovered, hopefully!
Good day.
Ah ok. Then I would recommend keeping the domain. Switching domain names (both which you purchased) is an annoying process of moving a lot of files and letting the site support do most of it (if it's done here). It's a process, and I would honestly try to avoid it if possible.
If you use the Move button inside SiteManager, it will place a Redirection from the old domain name to the new domain name. The search engines will pick up on this and index the new pages, usually, the same as they were before, however, the domain name is part of the ranking algorithm, so the name of it could work for/against you, and depending on how old the previous domain name was, you might lose the domain age value. Remember to also update GSC etc with the new name. And if you have shared your links around, make sure to go and update those backlinks, or leave the redirection in place for as long as possible. Generally speaking though, no, it shouldn't impact you too much, and it's an easy process.
Good morning Chrystopher
Many thanks for your detailed information.
I'd think twice about switching then, as I have shared links everywhere. Cheers!
Hi
I've recently bought a new domain and redirected my old one to that domain
It took a week or less for my new domain to be indexed by Google
It wasn't hard and it didn't involve anything technical
I hope that make sense
Hi Simone
Thank you for the information.
What about the old posts, did they get the same ranking as in the old domain?
Cheers!

Hi again lovely WAers, today is query day for me. I appreciate your thoughts on the following:
A couple months ago I changed the site title and it is now different from
If your site title is different to your domain name you may lose repeat traffic as your readers could be looking for sitetitle.com instead of domainname.com
Ranking drops are often caused by large changes to a website. When you've migrated a bunch of pages, rolled out a (responsive) redesign or reworked a lot of content you'll see big fluctuations in your rankings. This is natural, and should only worry you in case your rankings don't come back to their previous state.

Hi lovely WAers, I appreciate your opinion on choosing a domain name.
When purchasing a two word domain and the first word ends in the same letter as th
greenet .com
Estimated Value: $8,189 (USD)
greennet .com
Estimated Value: $11,021 (USD)
None of these domains are available, however, it is always more pricey having grammatically correct English words, if also the intention you want to sell website / blog at a future date.
The older the domain the better for Google.
I see your dilemma. Have you tried a website called Lean Domain Search? You can put in any name you want and it will give you a ton of different (available) variations for a domain name. If you click on the green box, it will tell you if the Twitter account is available too.
If you then want to host at WA, you can buy the domain here.
Many thanks. I just checked Lean Domain and I have compared it with Namemesh and the results are very similar.
Namemesh lists them into different categories: Common, Fun, SEO etc and Lean Domain is good as it tells you if the domain name is good or available as your Twitter name.
I would keep both as in "Green Net"
You may head to http://namemesh.com try find a suitable .com domain or try go daddy valuation tool to find a memorable name.
Hi Abie, thanks for that. I prefer to keep both as it is grammatically correct but not sure what´s best for SEO and google.
The domain is no longer so much important for seo purposes vs quality rich content and choice of good keywords, however I would go with grammatically correct English words. It is certainly more professional.

Hi everybody at WA, I was wondering if affiliate links we insert in posts and pages or reviews require maintenance at all!!
What if the link breaks, or the product or off
Hey Marisa,
It is always wise to fun the Free link checker at least once every 30 days. Here's a tutorial to assist you: Broken link checker 1 Broken affiliate links can also be discovered this way too.
Hope you find this helpful.
Hi Marisa, I think it is a good to check your links periodically. One of the affiliates I have does offer 3 day sales and I have to make sure I update my link. This is all part of having a great up to date site.
Best wishes,
Michael
I went to show a friend how Affiliate links worked in one of my posts and it didn't, it was blocked by Amazon because I had used the word cheap in my text. So I changed the link to another post on the same product and now it works.
So it was worth feeling embarrassed. I would check my links now.
Lily 😊
Yes, Accad is correct, links come and go and they should be "maintained." It is important to do so since Google bots do not like broken links as do readers. I have a website on another platform that tells me if a link is broken. I am quite certain there is an app or plugin that can be used in Wordpress to give you an up-to-date assessment on the health of your links.
There are times, images and links disappear for an unknown reason. It's good to once in a while check your posts and everything.

Hi, I am having probs with my theme. Is this a normal thing to happen or its just me. My question is how do you go about with it? Do you just switch to another theme and whats
I had problems with mine in a few ways. A couple still aren't fixed, but I did not want to switch to another theme, so WordPress sent an instruction sheet which I found not to be as clear as I would have liked. But at least they sent it and between some of the advice they gave along with it and my own experimentation, I got most of it fixed. One outstanding problem is my footer. The theme came with a misspelling in it (RECEENT instead of RECENT) and has some placeholder info that I want to fix and change, but I have yet to figure it out. The instruction sheet does not seem to address it. So I will probably have to email them yet again and try to figure it out. I think it is all just part of the learning process, and as long as your problems are not severe, just keep working at it and don't change themes unless you really have to.
Hi Marisa, it is not just you. There are so many themes out there it sometimes gets hard to pick one that suits your needs.
Even though every theme may have it's similarities, they are all different. I have been experimenting with themes for awhile.
It is OK to change themes, and if you feel the theme you are using does not suite you, yes I would change it.
When you mention editor, I am not sure of what is happening, it may be a plugin.
Please make sure you back up your site before making any major changes.
Best wishes,
Michael
As Scott says - what are the problems and what is the theme - and what plugins do you have -they maybe affecting your theme.
are you up to date with all of your updates.
phil
have you tried putting up a test site with all of your plugins and your theme to see if it is doing the same thing
Hi thanks. Its theme ascent. I like it but having trouble 1st with comments below posts. Now the read more button doesnt work so nearly all my posts are truncated.
I don't have a high hat for most theme developers, the last one let me hang in the rain. I switched, on advice from Marion Black, to Weaver Xtreme, she said it's the best free theme she ever encountered, and I must say, she was right. Fabuleus, you can change and adjust almost everything you want. Very advanced for a free theme.
You can watch the theme on my workathomefuture website
That's a pretty cool theme, I hadn't heard about it until now. That said, I'm still a GeneratePress guy (but I did buy it) and I'm loving Elementor.
I love this theme, what I love most is that it displays featured images on the posts, where you can choose for 1, 2, or 3 columns, the categories, the archive, and the tag archive. It speaks in colors:))
Thnks will check it out. Just wanted to know if its worth changing or all themes might have issues.
