Introduction to WA "Premium" Memberships

Today we have rolled out some brand new functionality that takes the PREMIUM membership here at WA in a league of it’s own...

Introducing WA "Premium" level Exclusive Memberships.

The concept is simple, there are tools, training, and services that will be exclusive to Premium members. If you are a full-time member here at WA then you already have Premium level access to everything that is offered. I just want to be clear that if you’re full-time at WA right now, you are "Premium" - there is not some other membership level to join.

The main difference is related to Trial members will not have access to the premium level training, tools, or services.

Why introduce "Premium"?

When test driving WA on the free trial there are some real gems of training that we want to reserve for Premium members only. There are tools and systems that we have planned that will be offered to Full-time members only.

Today we moved the 30-day Success Club into the "Premium Offering" because it is being completely updated and will refer to many items that are for full-time members only. During the first 10 days while a new member is on their trial some training just doesn’t make sense. Why get involved in the 30 day success club until you’ve made your decision to stay at WA full-time? Last week we released training called "Your First 10 Days" which is our recommended starting point for all members of WA. This 10 day course then progresses into the current "30-day Success Club" which will be renamed soon.

Adding to the exclusivity to the Premium offering at WA will benefit all who are dedicated to the program. This is going to be awesome!

You have FULL control over your content

When you create content at WA you have control over who can access it. You can create Premium training or Premium blogs, or change any of your training or historical blog posts to "Premium Members Only". Doing this will give your content a special "premium" label in the training center and make the content exclusive.

Creating content that is open to "All members" is important and encouraged but we now have the ability to create content for those who join WA full-time only.

If you are promoting WA you now have the ability to create special training content for people who join as full-time members. You can take the angle of letting your website visitors know that you’ve created "Premium" training that they can access if they join full-time. The trial membership at WA is amazing to say the least, but "Premium" will evolve into the absolute best opportunity out there for people who are willing to dedicate themselves to WA full-time.

As always with any new features we would love to hear your feedback.

Hello everyone!! Patricia here, I'm bit confused. So, I wanna try Premium membership, but I want to make sure that there is no commitment required. Can I cancel the premium membership after a month? If yes, would I be back to being a "starter" member again? Thanks and Hope you can help me with this. :)

You can cancel your premium membership after a month - but you can't revert to a starter membership You would need to start a new starter membership account. There is commitment required for the Premium account - Yours!

Hi everyone! I am thinking of upgrading to a premium membership. I was wondering if the 1-year membership deal is still on? And do we need to upgrade to premium first to be eligible for it because I cannot see that option when I want to upgrade from starters. Cheers.

Hey Adeline. Yup, I believe at the moment, you can only upgrade to yearly, once you're Premium. If you can get the $19 first month, then that's obviously cheaper than the equivalent monthly rate of c. $29 which is what yearly averages, being $359 per annum. :) Rich.

Hey Rich Thanks for that!! Once you are a premium, can you upgrade to yearly anytime? Or is there a some kind of waiting period? Cheers

No probs. You can upgrade immediately. I think it was to stop anyone joining annually upfront and then realising they could have got 7 free days and then 30 days at $19 and perhaps feeling "cheated" because they were paying the equivalent of $29 straight away for their first month. :) Rich.

Ah I see. That's why I love WA. Cheers mate :)

You're most welcome! :) R.

I agree with this, "10 days" naturally for the people to look around and try.
Then the "Premium" members get everything else because they are paying for the right to the additional training and resources that are provided.

My thoughts are keep it simple, and make it less overwhelming. I like the idea of separate training for the 10 day trial, simply because it is simple, easy to follow and a place to start. I would suggest another up to date 20 day training for the ones who finish the 10 day trail training and then join and want to continue. Will the new 30 day premium take that into account? Maybe a separate premium version of a 20 day finish to go with the 10 day trial training for those who choose to join us? Just some thoughts! By the way, I love the new mail!

Hey Shawn the 30 day course will be an extension of the "Your first 10 days" course and it'll be for people who decide to continue with their membership after the trial 10 days.

See, I knew you were on top of this, lol. keep it coming!

Hi Carson

In all honesty I'm not entirely sure what I think.

One minute we're promoting 10 days free access and access to 500+ materials (your quote - not mine) and now we could potentially hide a lot particularly of the newer materials. Result - newbies could get stuck with older materials many of which need updating.(apart from the 10 day training). This would not be impressive.

Also on the 10 day you're encouraging the share model - again I hope enough up to date stuff remains open for people to be able to share it.

What happens if you get a new member who gets through the 10 days in 5 days? If the 30 day is hidden inside the Premium membership - what are they to do? You may argue well they join up - but I they still have another 5 days to make up their mind - I don't know how you deal with that scenario- but it raises concerns for me and I think you need to signpost people to what they should do if they finish early.

Hi BIS. Thought I'd chime in. I think it can be related a lot to the 30 day trial as well. After joining WA and you read the 30 day trial thing, what do you do next? Nothing? They excel on that with other training guides, 1 on 1 help with other people within WA (I"ve been helping a few people myself through Facebook and stuff), they Google more information, and so on. Obviously the whole point here is to increase actual membership buys rather people taking advantage of the free trial offer then quitting. I know when I joined, I felt incredibly lucky even finding this place.

To be honest with you, I never even read the 30 day guide. lol. I guess that's just my yearning to use my own creativity, determination, and mindset to succeed with this though.

The chances of someone working through the 10 day course in 5 days is going to be very rare, and honestly the 30 day course is causing people to be completely overwhelmed. Does it make sense to start a 30 day course when you only have 10 days access while on the Trial? Absolutely not. Also, the "30 Day" course is being renamed to something completely different because no one can finish it in 30 days. IT's 30 complete lessons where some of them take days to complete. Overwhelming people in their first 10 days is not something we want to do - but it's something the 30 day course was doing.

People who are FREE members could not get through 5 tutorials, let alone 500+ in 10 days and if they try, then they are not absorbing anything or taking action. The 10 day trial is to give people an idea of what is offered here at WA. People will make progress in the 10 days, but there is just so much a person can do.

If someone works through the 10 day getting started course, they still have 100's of other training out there. Kyle and I alone have enough training published here at WA to give people the ultimate education in Internet marketing and we will not be making all of our training "PREMIUM" - NO WAY.

It's great that you question our every update here at WA because it sparks conversation and ultimately leads to a better understanding of why we make these decisions. Your "worry" about leaving trial members with NO fresh content isn't a reality as there is no reason to for people to mark all their training as "PREMIUM".

Carson

I had typed out a big comment on this a few hours ago only to decide it had already been mentioned. I'd be interested to see what the stats are for WA now with the free trial. I can only assume making some content 'premium' will help improve sign up rates.

I was against this 'premium' model when I read this blog this morning, but I've come around, and think it's a great idea. The ten days plan is sufficient to teach the basics, the rest is garnish - helpful garnish - but it's not like the most useful stuff is being locked away. I suppose it's like baking a cake, I can find a simple recipe online but to really make it special I'll go and buy a book written by a professional.

Looking forward to seeing the updated 30 days plan Carson.

Mark.

Hey Mark, you pretty much nailed it with what you've just said. I'm glad you had some time to think about what "Premium" means and that we're not making the "Trial" 10 days any less valuable. Look at what people get for FREE for the 10 days!!

Plus.. We would never let WA get to a point where there was ZERO value to a trial member.

My one-year Premium membership is about to expire. I would like to stay on with a starter membership, is there a way to do this?

I think this is a good idea. Steering some of the main features away from the new trial members. I think all Training should be for premium users while free people can still see the 1st page upon joining like anything else. I'd have to say the 3 main reasons why I use WA are:
- Wealthy Affiliate Keyword Tool
- Wealthy Affiliate Hosting
- Training, Community, & Blogs
Having certain restrictions on the important parts of WA will increase interest of people in buying gold or yearly subscription.

I know when I joined.... I signed up because I was determined.. these people are lucky they have this free trial in the 1st place.

Hi Seth, Tools, training, limits on service - all of this leads to a better premium offer. I agree that people who join for free are getting a heck of a deal.. but we also want PREMIUM members who are paying to be part of the community to feel like they are getting a deal too. Premium members should get premium "Stuff" that is exclusive. If someone is a free member would like to have access to this "Stuff" then they can become a full-time part of our awesome community!

Carson, I think that this new level is excellent. I agree with you that having the FREE members not see the 30 day club is on target. I am getting ready to launch my new site in about a week. I now can focus on providing training information to only those that join at the Premium level. Great Work!

Absolutely...this gives you the ability to use your training or blog posts here at WA as a reason for people to join. With every premium resource, tool, or service added the PREMIUM membership will get better. It's something we've had in the pipeline for a while. Let me know how things go with the launch of your site. I will be happy to have a look at it if you're after some feedback.

Fantastic George, that gives Kyle a whole seven days to revamp 30 Day Success Club, he'll think Xmas has come early! ;)

Hi Carson,
I have tried to upgrade to the year memebership but there seems to be problems as when I choose the yearly payment option and click the upgrade button I get an error message which says " invalid subscription price" My free memebership has finished but I am now unable to continue. Any ideas ?

Hi Dave. I managed to catch up with Carson in the chatroom, he's checking into it now for you. Rich.

Thanks RIch, I am only able to communicate via blogs at the moment, clicking on the links in emails I get.

Hi Dave, we've tracked down the problem and we're fixing it right now. Rich also had some trouble upgrading to the 1-year membership and we were able to track that down too. Thanks to both of you for debugging this with me. Great to know that you're going to be with us for the next year. We've got some truly awesome stuff in the pipeline that will take WA Premium to a whole new level!

Thanks Carson, I'm glad You managed to find the problem. I'm looking forward to my year with WA, sounds like this is going from strength to strength. I have to admit I know very little about IM and really hope I can get some results in my first year.

No probs. Dave, you're most welcome. I'd forgotten you can't PM on the trial. I'll mention that to Kyle or Carson when I see them next in the chatroom, as there should be a way for those who are on the trial or where it's expired to contact someone if they're having trouble signing up. I'm sure they wouldn't want anyone wandering off due to that!!

Your background in IT is going to help immensely. You most likely will breeze through anything technical. Learning marketing is addicting because everything you do can produce results. Write an article = Get traffic, Change a heading on your website = see more sales.. that kind of thing! All of the things you learn here at WA will add up to an unparalleled education in marketing and online business. You've made an awesome decision - now we just have to fix this broken payment issue...

Carson, I got an email saying you had sent me a message in the forum but I am unable to read this due to account restrictions.

Hey Dave, I wanted you to give it a try signing up again as we think we have corrected the issue you were having with getting that "invalid price" message.

I know I should be happy... but I'm now starting 30 Day over for the fourth time!!!!

The 30 day success club really shouldn't be called "30 days". It's evolved into a very in-depth course that is more of a Blueprint for an Internet business. Very few people could actually complete it in 30 days, including myself so we'll be renaming it shortly.

Many "New" members were getting frustrated and overwhelmed by it so we've moved it to "Premium". The "First 10 Days" getting started course is there for new people.

It's great that you are going through it for a fourth time - I'm sure each time you pick up some new skills.

Yes. I'm certainly getting a workout on my proofreading skills, Kyle has a specific facial twitch every time he sees my @RICH handle!

This makes a lot of sense, glad to hear it.
