Hi, Everyone!

This is the last of the posts that I thought I had lost, revised to reflect more current activities.

I'vebeen busily working on an article that I hope to finally get finished and published this week. It feelsso good to see my website taking shape. It will be even better when I get some images on it, which is what I'm currently working on when I'm not writing.

I don'talways have a lot of time for my business, but I make sure that I either workon one of the certification lessons, do some research for an article, or writeat least a few sentences every day. And it has paid off.

Myfirst website is up and running, with 4 posts and has been ranked in Google.Today I discovered that I am in the Top 50! Don't know exactly how thathappened, or what that involves, but it sounds like something good!

Thepost I just finished has 3 links to other websites. Two are sites wherecustomers can order budget or moderately priced ballroom dancing shoes, (onelink for each), and the other is a reference for them to research thebest brands of ballroom dance shoes for more information than I provided in myarticle, and to purchase the very expensive high end dance shoes like the professionals wear.

Now Ineed to find out how to join their website affiliate programs and get it set upso I get paid if someone clicks on the links on my website.

Our forecast for tonight was bitter wind chill temperatures, but no snow. When I let my dog out a few minutes ago, there was a light dusting of snow accumulating on my deck, and it was snowing lightly. Glad I'm not going anywhere tonight. Hope I'm not snowed in tomorrow, as I'm supposed to go to a friend's house for supper. Will just have to wait and see and keep an eye on the roads, I guess.

I liveon a steep mountain road that does not get plowed or salted when it snows because it's not a countyroad. When the snow melts and re-freezes, the road is very dangerous becausethere are deep drop offs and no guardrails. So, in the winter, I just make sure I have provisions to be snowed in. It's just a fact of life around here...inconvenient at times, but not a really big deal. I don't take any chances on icy roads!

I hope everyone had a Happy New Year. Now that the holidays are over for the time being, it's time for me to buckle down and get more accomplished!

Oh not, not again! I thought I was past the time that my last post was published. I usually write late at night, and it is past midnight when I attempt to publish. Will have to check to see when my one from yesterday was actually posted. At least this revision of this post won't be "lost" like it was the first time! I know where to resurrect it when the clock strikes midnight...maybe I'l wait til 9 or 10 tomorrow AM just in case!

Carol

You have a vivid imagination, and I believe a poetic streak, Paul. It would be hot chocolate because I don't like coffee and don't bother with tea very often. Only one dog, and probably a cat in my lap.

That sounds like a great way to write.

Yeah, except when George decides to climb my leg like a tree to get in my lap!

Oh, that must be fun. lol

Yeah, right! He's capable of just jumping into my lap, but he prefers to climb. OUCH!

We have a labradoodle that is quite large but is still convinced he is a little puppy and will try to sit in Brenda's lap. It's hilarious

Leia is, too. She's 50 pounds, but thinks she's about 15, I think. When I'm on the couch, she'll put her head and shoulders and front feet in my lap. I'd say that black dog has a warped self image! (Is your labradoodle black, too?)

Yes, 75 pounds and thick curly black hair.

Most of the labradoodles I've seen are either black or blonde with curly hair. Guess the curly hair comes from the poodle half.

Yeah

I can almost see you writing by the fire with a comfy blanket wrapped over you and a hot cup of tea or coffee. Dogs at your sides and creative ideas flowing onto paper.

Awesome Work, Carol! Ranked at 50 is great! How did you find out your ranking? I have been wondering this for a while. I still think I am not ranked to high but, I am constantly working on trying to improve.

I am glad to hear you weren't snowed in. Living on a mountain seems like it would be nice besides, the steepness. I am sure you have nice beautiful views to watch though.

I just learned last night that I could link to third party websites. I always thought I needed permission to do so but, apparently not.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us....

Kisha

Hi, Kisha. Thanks for your response. If you look at your profile page, at the very top right hand corner there is a strip of icons. The dark blue one next to the pen will have your rank in it. It will say "Rank" 50, or whatever. I'd be interested to hear what your is when you discover it.

Yes, I do have beautiful wintertime views. I live in the woods and can't see the mountains for the trees in the summer. But my gorgeous creek running over rocks and down the mountain makes up for it. It's 3 degrees now, and it looks like a fairyland down by the creek. It never freezes over, but the spray freezes on the rocks and the edges. I took some pics and will try to post one on my profile page if I can figure out how! Carol

Hi, Carol! Great to hear from you.

Oh! I read the post wrong. You rank Top 50 in WA. Actually, you are rank #40....that is very, very good. You deserve it! Keep up the hard work you've been putting in. You're almost to Ambassador. I know you'll be there in no time.

At first, I thought you were talking about the website being ranked number 50 on Google. And, I still thought that was great but, now that I know you're talking about your WA ranking that is awesome.

My blue button says Rank #61. So, I am rank #61.

Wow! 3 degrees...burr! I do not think I have ever in my life experience weather that cold. Good thing it does not freeze. I am so surprised that it doesn't.

Yes, it would be amazing to see the creek running over the rocks and down the mountain. That just sounds gorgeous.

Maybe this tutorial will help...Marion did a video on how to insert the Images... Well, thanks Carol for your reply back! Have an awesome night! Kisha

Thanks for your response, Kisha. Glad you could find your rank. Congrats on being in the top 100!

I was at 50 when I wrote that post, but it was saved as a draft because I haven't been premium for 3 months, and I had already posted one earlier in the day. Since I often write late at night, I thought that since it was past midnight, it would go through, but it got saved as a draft instead. When I posted it last night, I forgot to change my rank from 50 to 40.

Where do you live, Kisha? I'll gladly trade you some cold weather for some warmer days!! Thanks for the link. I'll have to check it out.
Carol

Yes, the draft! I have that same issue sometimes. I think with me when I end up writing more than one WA post. I noticed it will go through if you post it 24 hours after the last post.

So, you write at midnight, It should go through around 12:15 am but, who knows how that really works. I still have to figure it out myself.

I live in San Antonio, Texas, I just moved here like 2 years ago from Austin, Texas and it usually does not get too cold. This winter the lowest we experienced was 26 degrees but, usually, people are still wearing shorts most of the winter.

I met my sister, who lives 3 hours away in Athens, GA, 1/2 way in Clayton, GA for lunch yesterday. We hadn't seen each other for quite awhile, and it was so good to get together! When I was getting gas on my way home, it was 8 degrees with a wind chill below zero. I was amazed at the people in the gas station wearing SHORTS! Either they don't own any long pants, or they don't have good sense! Have a great weekend, Kisha.

Oh, that was nice to meet for lunch.

You had me laughing Carol. I think you're right. I think it may be both no good sense and don't own any long pants. You too, Carol have a fantastic weekend!

Laughter is good medicine. Happy to oblige! Will keep praying for you guys. Carol

Thank you!

Thanks for the post-Carol. It sounds like things are moving your way. Ranked at 50 is great IMHO. Be careful on the icy roads, they are unforgiving.

Will do, Alex. I don't care to take flying lessons over the side of an icy road with a drop off! Don't think it would be near as much fun as when Anita goes flying...she uses a plane, not a Subaru! Carol

Now I'm going to be scratching around due to a shortage of things to read!

A very nice read again Carol, your Niche sounds interesting! Good luck with it. I hope you know, that if I do decide to lose a couple of pounds and ever take up the wonderful Art of ballroom dancing, you are one click away!

That trecherous road sound sounds a bit awful.

Thanks for sharing.

Wayne

Thanks, Wayne. Yes, I love where I live, but hate the road!!

You don't need to lose any weight to enjoy dancing, Wayne. You'd be surprised at how some of the big guys can move! When I lived in FL we had an old man who walked into the dance with a walker, but once he was on the dance floor, he could go without it. Imagine his partner was holding him up. He had Parkinson's and took very tiny shuffling steps when walking, but somehow the music helped him lengthen his steps and be less rigid.

Now that I've recycled all the posts I had ready, I'll have to start thinking about what my next one will be. Carol
