Finally the sweet smell of success!

Spent most of the day working on my website learning how to manage images. FINALLY figured it out! When you kow what you're doing, it's really pretty easy. Don't understand why I had such a hard time with it, but I GOT IT NOW!

Made a lot of progress today, even though it took me all day to do it!

I have images on most of my posts now. I'm still working on getting permission from the different dance shoe manufacturers to use their logos and images of their shoes. I have noted that several places that sell them are using both the logo and the images, so I'm thinking I'll join the vendors' affiliate programs instead of the manufacturers. It would probably be faster that way.

Excitement over Capezio affiliate program was short lived.

I received an email from Capezio stating that they have discontinued their affiliate program, so I will be joinng an affiliate program for one of the sites that sell Capezios instead. I think I will have permission to use their images when I'm approved for their program. I think Amazon is one of the vendors who have that brand.

Still have more to learn.

I have images on most of my pages now, but when I tried to see how they look, they don't show up on my website. They are on Wordpress, and I refreshed the site, but they still don't show up. NOW what am I doing wrong??

Time for bed!

Even though I'm concerned because there's some kind of bug that I'm not aware of, I still feel really good about what I accomplished today. I'm tempted to stay up and get images on the other 2 pages, but really need to get to bed. They will still be here waiting patiently for their adornment while I sleep. Type A that I am, I hate to quit before a job is finished, but am going to force myself to do it anyway!

I wonder what made them stop their affiliate program? So many companies are going this way.

Don't know, but I'll get paid another way because there are online stores that carry their brand and DO have affiliate programs.

Well, that's good then.

That's what I'm planning on doing til I have enough traffic to reapply to Amazon.

Me too. I wish I hadn't opened my account with Amazon when it came up in training because I just don't have the traffic or the content that converts to sales.

I don't either.

It's still a mystery to me. How to write content that converts is just beyond my understanding so far.

Maybe you could write a question to the community to get their input. I don't know anything about conversions yet.

That's a good idea. i've looked at the training over and over, it just isn't getting in my head yet

I know you wrote this awhile back, but in response to one of your later posts, and in view of your prolific writing in the past couple days, I'd say you've hit your stride. YOU'VE GOT IT!

Thank you, Carol. Your support is valuable to me.

That makes me feel good, Paul. Happy to help.

Great news about the images, I am sure you will figure it out. The missing piece to have them show up in your site. I am not that far yet. So I may tap you knowledge when I am there. "Go to Bed"

I'll be happy to help any way I can. I'm still getting comfortable finding out if images are OK to use due to copyright infringement concerns. Alex Evans had a great post about that, and I'm using his info.

I am the same way Carol. It is so hard to drag myself away and go to bed if I could just get one more thing done...and then another...

I hope you sign up for Amazon since you can get sales of so many other items that way! If someone clicks on your link for shoes but then remembers they wanted to order a coffee pot too, you get the commission for the coffee pot!

I have gotten sales of jeans, shoes, phone accessories, books and more though my links were all cat related products such as food and supplements.

I don't know if dance shoes are considered the same as regular shoes for Amazon commissions but if so then you would be in the 7% commission bracket I believe. I am in 8% and that is much higher than most people here whose products only fall in a 4% range. Therefore, Amazon should be a good choice for you! I love it. If someone buys something in another bracket that is the commission you get. So the shoes would be 7% but if someone bought something from the 4% range you would get 4% and if it was the 10% range that is what you would get.

I am glad you are making progress.

I think I'm already a member of Amazon affiliates from another program I got ripped off on (the company, not Amazon). I think there's something about having a quota of sales, and I've never sold anything. Don't know if I'll need to reapply or just get it reactivated. DanceShoeStore.com is paying 8% on every sale, so I will definitely be joining that one, too. I just haven't done it yet because I don't know how to put the code on my website yet. I assume it'll be in the certification class somewhere. If not, I know it will be in bootcamp, but I don't want to wait that long to start getting commissions. I know I can't handle both classes at once, and I'm only on the 2nd Course in the Certification class.

Yes, you will get to it in the lessons.

I don't know if you will need to set up a new account since I don't know if they let you add a new website into an existing account. I need to figure that out. The affiliate program is linked to a specific website though. You get approval for your website, not for you personally. So, if you have not gotten approval for your current website from Amazon, you will have to either set up a new account or possibly they could let you add an additional site onto your account.

That's good. I don't mind just starting over, since I never did anything with them before. And I don't particularly want my new site involved with the other 2, either. When I first started WA, I was asking about transferring my other 2 sites to here, but now that I've been here awhile, I'm too busy to worry about trying to revive the other 2 websites. They put the content on them, and they were not accurate and had poor grammar. I was embarrassed to be associated with it, and didn't know how to get into my websites to correct things. WA IS SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!

Hi Carol, you're doing really good and yes, while they are baby steps it gets better all the time. Doesn't it feel good to learn something new and it works? This is success! Keep up the good work... I'm still taking baby steps too.

Thanks for the encouragement. And, yes, it feels GREAT after being stuck for so long working on it. Baby steps are good. I'm content to just toddle along, as long as it's forward motion!

You are doing fine, Carol. There is always a lot to do and this job is never finished.
Sleep well, it is not going to run away....

Keep it going one step at a time

great day matching pictures to words Carol!

I had the little guy for my last post, but didn't know how to get him on there. This time I wrote my post on SiteContent, then cut and pasted it onto the post. Carol

Thanks, Mike.

Great job what a feeling. :)

Thanks, Nick.

Great job Carol, keep rocking my friend! :-)

Thanks, Bob.

You are doing quite amazing! Go to sleep and make some new progress tomorrow!

Well done Carol, very encouraging.

Wayne

Thanks, Wayne!
