I Had Forgotten How Much I Enjoy Doing Reasearch for Writing
Hello, All. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I sat down to start researching my first article, and went into the zone. I had forgotten how much I used to enjoy doing the research for my term papers when I was in college. At the time, I probably wouldn't have considered it "fun" due to time constraints and due dates, but I did enjoy learning new things about my topics.
This morning I did a search for a simple definition of ballroom dancing to begin the article and found myself transported into a world I didn't know existed five minutes ago. The more I read and clicked on links, the more intrigued I became with my topic. I was writing down new ideas for keywords to research by the dozens! And I wasn't even LOOKING for keyword ideas. They were just there right in front of me, ripe for the picking! As a result, I have broadened the original concept of my website considerably.
I wish I didn't have holiday obligations I need to leave for today; I could very happily spend the day writing!

I never go away without a laptop or tablet just in case.
But the funny thing is, I never get it out until the day I forget to take it ...
I prefer typing on a "real" keyboard. I'm a good typist, and get my fingers between the keys on the smaller ones. And I refuse to type with a "stick"!! Call me low tech, old fashioned, it's true. But I manage to get the job done anyway!
I knew that feeling, Carol. Reading and writing makes me absorb many new knowledges. I love it.

All those keyword ideas coming to you effortlessly probably means you were definitely looking at the right niche for you.
Probably so. I'm really enjoying it, but haven't done much with it lately because I've been busy getting my house ready to put on the market. Pics were taken today, so now I gotta buckle down and get some content written. I have the research for 3 articles done and outline finished for one of them, so it's just a matter of making myself decide to do it.
Once I sit down and start the process, that's 1/2 the battle. After I get myself going, the words more or less write themselves. I think that's probably because I've been chewing on it unconsciously when I'm not working on it.
Oh my, I do the same thing. I write another story while I'm 'chewing' on the article I need to write.
Sometimes it's a nap that does it. Don't worry about answering me right away if you're busy, I'm not going anywhere.
It appears that you meant it when you said you were going to read all of my posts. That's some undertaking! I'm going to get myself some supper and head to bed pretty soon. Only had about 3 hours sleep last night.
I hope that isn't the norm for you. It is for me. Lifelong sleeping problems.
Unfortunately, it often is for me. I have sleep apnea and fibromyalgia, so the chances of me getting a real good night's sleep are slim. I'm having another sleep study next month because I'm claustrophobic and can't tolerate anything around my face, so the CPAP is not a treatment option for me. I'm hoping to qualify for the dental device that holds your jaw in a position to keep the throat from closing.
Sorry to hear that. Sleep deprivation is not cool.
Definitely! And it's bad for your brain, as well!
Yeah, it sure is. I'm running on three days of almost no sleep now. My writing is likely to be nonsense for a bit.
