The Apostle Paul - It is not what it looks like

I pulled this picture from our Wealthy Affiliate library under 'stained glass'. The picture and the post are not as they seem at the first glance of my title and then coming here and seeing this image.

I originally posted a story here with this title and then removed it because it seemed superfluous to me. It seemed unnecessary. And my motivation was not entirely in line with what I have said all along my purpose here is. Namely to help and encourage others. I posted it (in part not completely) to draw out others who share my beliefs, so they would identify themselves to me, and so I would be able to connect with them rather than waiting until that happened organically.

This was wrong of me and disingenuous. (It was also a violation of rule #21.) So I promptly removed it after wrestling with it for a bit. (of course posting it again sort of does the same thing but that is not my intention) I am being brutally honest here so I hope those who see my original hypocrisy will not hold it against me. I'm very good at hearing that still small voice in my conscience and course-redirected even though I do not always make the best first choices. But this new post using the same title is not about me. I want to iterate an admonition I shared in the original. That part was genuine.

I wanted to reiterate (to iterate again); I wanted to share the guidelines here for Live Chat, for posts, and for our engagement here in this community.

First, I see people who share my beliefs and as new members begin to use this platform as a witnessing tool. That is not it's purpose. Be light but you cannot be an evangelist here although you may be one at heart. It is not allowed here. So our posts need to be void of religious content except I guess if it is an analogy or holiday and you're wishing others a 'Merry Christmas" or something. I will share the rules of engagement below so you can read them. Please do read them and heed them. I want to continue building friendships with you here and these rules are an area that is non-negotiable.

Second, I see people frequently posting URL's in the Live Chat and when it is addressed it becomes obvious in most cases that they did not know it was a rule. That it was not allowed. It is call self-promoting and yes, it is not allowed. It is in the rules.

So anyway to make a long story short -- I hoped this helped to explain my previous post to those that got the email notification and PM'd me to ask what happened to the story.

I happened to the story. I removed it. And now you know why.
Here is the link to the WA rules in Kyle's words...

Kind regards friends and I will now resume my usual helpful, encouraging, yet benign posts from now and into the future. A future that looks incredible by the way!

Normally I ask for comments and likes.

I am not going to do that here because I do not want to start a debate or discussion about the rules. Especially the part about no religious posts. I completely concur. If you want to share your agreement with them and share your view on the wisdom of them then please comment. If you wish to encourage me in these thoughts that's fine. When I go out on a limb by being brutally honest encouragement is appreciated. If you wish to challenge the rules I am kindly asking you to take it up in Private Message with Kyle but not here.

Fair enough? Thank you dear friends.

Kind regards again,

Carl

I think I've been guilty of putting my website on a couple times when I was asking a question. Will have to watch out for that. It seemed like a natural way to show what I was talking about, but I won't do it again because I don't want to break any of the rules.

This situation you mentioned, Carl, might have happened before I came on board. I have never noticed anything that I thought was illegal in your posts. Thanks for your honesty in writing this, and hope it clears the air for you. I would never consider you a hypocrite. It is not our place to judge each other, anyway.

Thanks for the reminder of the rules. I think it behooves all of us to refresh them in our minds from time to time because we get too comfortable here sometimes and that can lead to slip ups like mine.

Carol

Thank you Carol. I appreciate the time it took to reply. Truly! and I'm encouraged once again.

I have utmost respect for Paul and his wisdom that he shares with affiliates daily, and also in posting this, to show that he too is like us all human, and as we all do, sometimes battle with our decisions about something we feel compelled to share. In this case as he feels that he may have violated a WA rule, he is as always utmost in his honesty and professionalism in professing what has occurred and how he feels about it. With such honesty and integrity, he as always stands above reproach in my eyes. And whether I believe in anything or don't is not important. What is important is the character of the man. And there is plenty of that.

Did you mean respect for Carl? I am touched. Thank you.

Yes, absolutely

I am humbled and honored.

I've been noticing the need for the reminder and I suppose reminders will continue to be needed. For those with ears to hear...

Take care, neighbor!
~Bob

Yes I agree and think so too.

Hi Carl, I applaud you for openly correcting yourself. As you might have perceived I am one of those who share your spiritual beliefs, but, it is wise to understand there is a place and a time for everything, and I also believe our behavior within the rules of this community is a strong testimony. I will take advantage of this opportunity and reread the rules to ensure I also stay within the lines. God bless!

God bless you as well. Thank you!

Hi Carl, thanks for posting, I had only glanced at these rules so the reminder is good.
Can I ask re rule 7 "No adding affiliate links to any blog, training, discussion or private message" - I'm guessing that means I can't add my own affiliate link within those communications, as opposed to clicking on "Affiliate" say on the top of this blog and sharing that? So if I wanted to share this blog externally for example, am I allowed to do that by clicking on the affiliate button that appears for me? Thanks

Hi Carl - I probably asked this too quickly. I have done some searching and found this so I have the answer now - yes we can share blogs. Thanks

I will check this out. Thank you I had not seen it yet.

I agree, religious debate would only bring down the quality of friendships here in WA

Yes I agree and that of course was not my intent.

We all can take a lesson from you.

Thank you Robert.

Fair enough, Carl. I appreciate your honesty and openness and I don't think a debate is necessary. Rules is rules and what applies to one applies to all. End of story.

All the best blessings and thanks. Let those who are without....cast the first stone. I see no hypocrisy here, just honesty.

Thank you. I appreciate that.

I hear your heart here Carl.
Honesty is the best policy. It frees the conscience and now you are ready to soar like an eagle.

David

Absolutely. Thanks my friend!
I caught the reference here. Thx.

Self chastisement is a great muse Carl. Great imagery!

Thank you Mike
