It's Not About The Money

Here at Wealthy Affiliate we learn that it cannot be about the sales or the money. The reader at your website needs to know that you care about them and that you can relate to them. If they do not you will never be able to increase clicks, conversions, and lower bounce. If you do not understand this then continue on with your WA lessons.

I started a ministry website teaching about maturity and growth, humility and kindness, and the wisdom of the ages regarding building wealth. But I was hard-pressed to turn this passion into a viable form of income. Sure I had my WA banner there. I had a few links that could have returned some conversions but didn't. That was not and is not why people come to my site.

Needed to Make a Change

I needed to make a change if I was going to justify spending for my hosting and training here. At the same time a friend was talking to me about his niche and telling how great it was going. I pushed him off. Pushed him off. Pushed him off. But he continued to gently check in and talk with me as a friend from time to time. I am so glad he did. I was seeing no green and my budget for learning, hosting, and connecting was getting smaller.

The Change and Rapid Growth

So I finally made the change. I signed on to mt friends new niche even though I really did not understand it all at that time. There was much about it that seemed way 'out of the box' thinking to me. But I went with my gut and began to set into learning about the product, the processes, and the policies of my new niche company. For four weeks I did not make a dime.

But! But in the 5th week I began to see a little light at the end of the tunnel...

But by week 5 I made $5.80. Not much but better than I had made in the first 8 months of my online education.

In week 6 I made $8.28. What is that? More than a 50% increase over the previous week. Slightly over.

Then in week 7 I made $27.06 which was more than a 200% increase over the previous week.

In week 8 it dropped a bit to $11.59 but that was still 200% of my 5th week.

Then in week 9 I earned $38.62 -- which is only slightly more than week 7 but you get the idea here as to how quickly this new niche can grow.

Who knows where it will go next?

Best Decision I Ever Made

Joining Wealthy Affiliate was the first best financial decision I ever made. But the second best financial decision I have ever made was to add this new niche to my ministry passion. The best part is that it is in the health and wellness industry and we have the most potent and powerful 'tool' for bringing about health and helping the body heal itself. So my point is this. I have continued my ministry. I can continue to teach those things that help the mind and the human spirit. But now I have something to offer and promote that can help the physical also.

It gets better though. We have so automated our processes that it does not really take a lot of time and effort. We are slowly building traffic. Slowly building content. And slowly building wealth. Just the way that Welathy Affiliate has taught us. It is a beautiful thing!

But I have to iterate --- for me -- although I talk a lot about the money -- it is not about the money. In fact I bought the domain [thealtruisticaffiliate] because I intend to share from there everything we are doing at our current Team website. The principles of Others First and Altruism in business. It is a beautiful thing. And it is not about the money.
