Disappointment.

It happens to anyone who ever sets a goal and does not reach it. Even when the person said "it really doesn't matter but I am going for it anyway." For 2017 it is likely that you had goals that you did not reach. It is likely that some of the plans you had did not come to fruition. [You have to trust me on this; I can relate. Even though I said it really didn't matter.]

I am not talking about only online plans. Life has disappointments sometimes daily.

So What do you do when set backs come?
And trust me in this too -- they will come.

So what do you do. Well, there are a number of things you CAN do.

You could quit and say I am done with this, or that, or whatever the plan was in relation to. You can just give up and go back to whatever you were doing, go back to that which you didn't like, go back to that which motivated you to want to do something else. You can quit and go back to that. But I know most of the online entrepreneurs I have met here have stick-to-it-tiveness and will not give up. I wonder how many people got almost to a victory and then gave up. I am told almost only counts "in horse shoes and hand grenades" but I am afraid almost is probably more prevalent than that.

You could change your perspective. You could see the set back as an opportunity to learn, as most definitely it is that. You could look at the lack of results you got, look at the planned steps you took, and devise new steps to go after it again. This is what overcomers do. You could ask questions and develop your competency in a given area so when you come back to it you will "be so good that you can't be ignored" as one of my former Managers was fond of saying.

You can USE the disappointment and an education appointment.

You can set new goals. Harder goals if you're a go-getter. Or easier goals if you wish. But you can start fresh and set some new targets. Again this is what overcomers do every single day.

You can blog about it. Self explanatory here I think.

I am not writing about a major goal set back that I had in 2017 because this is not the purpose of my post. the disappointment was greater than I anticipated it would be but it is all good. I did not realize I had invested so much emotionally into it. Honestly, my first response was to give it a rest for today. But my daily, weekly, yearly goals are not the only reason I am here. I want to be a blessing, help, and encouragement to others.

I have some new goals. More challenging ones. We Dill's are not quitters. Never have been. So I am running the first lap after a spectacular start and will circle the track as many times as I have to to reach the finish line and gain the trophy.

Figuratively speaking of course.

Join me in being an overcomer in 2018!
Will you do that? Please don't give up.

You got this affiliate marketing thing.
And you have tons of help.
I will help where I can.

Kind regards and let's get to it!

As always -- your comments are the only
way I know that you have seen this.

Please like and comment something. Thx!

I cannot tell who liked but I see them pile up.

I can only engage with you with a comment or PM.

This post resonates with me a lot. I had spent some time in 2017 reflecting on my past and figuring out some stuff as to why I'm where I am now (if that makes sense). I realised something about myself, and that is that historically I've been a quitter. There have been a few things over the past decade that I've stopped when I've got so close to the end or achieving my goal. I had not realised this has been part of my behaviour until I did the reflective exercise this year.

So i can say, hand on heart, that this has to and will change and I will be an overcomer with you this year Carl :)

Awesome. Glad to read this Shelley. I am not a quitter but I have always struggled with being a finisher. I jump from thing to thing too easily. But this community and program has been effective in keeping me focused. Can't wait to see where it goes! I know where I am heading and that is a start. Glad you're aboard for the journey.

Great post-Carl!

Through failures, and setbacks is when we find Success!

No one ever achieved anything by just giving up.

Happy New Year Sir!

-Rob

Exactly! Thank you Rob. I appreciate your comment and agreement. Although I never mind a challenge to my thinking either. :0)

This actually reminds me of my own journey. The challenges which are faced that just don't seem so important after you succeed or not at them.

The lessons gained from each trial often makes me re-evaluate the situations and then focus more on something I truly desire.

Adventures we go on in this life are meant to be tougher than expected.

Everything would become so boring in a world where everyone gets their way all the time.

Overcoming something isn't about success, it's about the difficulty, the pain it causes us and the pleasure we can enjoy elsewhere.

Excellent addition to my post. Thank you Eric. I expected that from you. Best wishes for 2018! See you in Vegas if you're there.

I love it! I have a habit to quit rather than try to get over the hurdles. This is a new year and I am going to try real hard not to quit on things so easily.

Great! Glad to encourage and help. That is why I am here. My set back recently has reignited that original intent. To help and encourage.

A a good post with some good sound advice I hope the best for you and your goals and dreams and happy new year

Thank you Matthew.
This is the year to remember!
We'll be talking about 2018 for years.

You are welcome anytime I agree I believe if one person can do it another can. It may take a little bit longer for one to get a goal achieved then another, but if we really want it eventually we will get there.

Absolutely! Agreed.

Some good support words again Carl!

Thanks

Wayne

Thanks Wayne. I appreciate that.
What no e-book this time. :-p

You are getting let off very lightly my mate, it was a very late New Years celebrations and I am definitely in catch up mode.

And, its nice for you not to have to read all those words! LOL!

No, just genuinely tired. I am thinking, that I may venture into posts and blogs myself, once I gain some confidence in the New Year?

Have a great one there, thank you!

Wayne

Thanks Wayne. you too friend!

Hi Carl,
Count me in!!! My focus is intact . Giving up ? NEVER.

Regards.

Javier.

Never and option my friend. Never! Agreed.

As long as you keep moving forward, failure will never be the outcome. Wishing you much success in 2018.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

Thank you Karen.

2018 is a turning point Year! I guarantee it!

This applies to SEO obsession but could just as easily apply to rank obsession, With your drive a bounce up is inevitable possibly tonight!

My focus has been tempered and strengthened. Not on rank advancement but on being a greater help and encouragement here. Thanks Mike, I will check it out after breakfast.

I've never understood the rank obsession here at WA. I don't think it's as prominent as it used to be when the motive for contributing was often more focused on rank improvement than on the quality of the content.

Look who's in the top 200! Lol

I have to admit even though I said it didn't matter to me that it was just a goal I was shooting for, the truth is that it did matter. After the rank shake up and dropping far out of the Ambassador ranks I developed a new perspective on it and now only really care about helping others succeed and building my own framework for success.

You got me ... but I honestly don't know how it happened. I've not published any training and as you can see I don't blog all that much.

But I do enjoy interacting with the community when the tread gets my interest. I wish you the best in 2018.

That must be it --- interacting. To you too! Thank you.

Hi Carl,

NEVER give up and
NEVER surrender....to anything.
Tom

Never have. Never will. Thanks Tom. I appreciate that.
