Where do I find my DNS Configuration for my Domain Website ?
DNS (Domain Name Services) is like the traffic cop of the Internet. Basically, it tells different kinds of traffic (that has to do with your website) what to do and where to go. There is a DNS record for email and another for your website. These two entities can be in totally different places.
That being said, when you purchase a domain name, the place you purchased it is known as a "registrar". It's much like titling a car here in the U.S. And, you pay for it annually (like "tags" for your car).
When you purchase it, they give you an online account to take care of the DNS configuration.
Typically, for WA, we simply point the NameServers (NS) to Wealthy Affiliate and they handle it. Thereby, when I do a public DNS check on your website, I see this:
nput: robertselectronicwarehouse.com
canonical name: robertselectronicwarehouse.com
Registered Domain: robertselectronicwarehouse.com
Retrieving DNS records for robertselectronicwarehouse.com...
DNS servers
ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com
ns3.mywahosting.com
ns4.mywahosting.com
Also, your DNS MX record (mail server) returns this:
A mail.robertselectronicwarehouse.com 54.204.43.219
I purchased my domain here at WA and i checked http://ns1.mywahosting.com to configure my DNS but the site can't be reach. I tried to check whoislookup and it's under http://enom.com. I want to take ownership of my domain cause i can't verify and add it to my property on google. Any thoughts on this please?
Hi Carry, Enom is used by several different companies for registering (buying) a domain name. Now, you don't need this to verify your website with Google - I can help you work around it..... BUT, the domain name will expire at some point, if you can't pay for the annual registration. Do you have any online account with any registrar like GoDaddy, NameCheap or perhaps another?
Feel free to PM me for more assistance.
