It's usually your browser cache needs clearing, How To Clear Your Cache In Chrome & Firefox or a plugin. Try clearing the cache first, if that doesn't work do a process of elimination with the plugins.
This happened to me last week when I reverted to a previous layout. I'm not sure what theme you have but I think its something to do with the Edit plugin. Re-install your plugins. When I did this nothing happened. So sent out a few questions - and nobody could answer them. So I sat on it for a day. When I went back into it I could review it.

Normally this is a result of plugin conflicts. You can find the culprit by deactivating your plugins and installing them one by one. However, it's usually the most recent one you installed, or the one that hasn't been updated recently. Some plugins can still be installed even though they haven't been updated for several years.
