I didn't know much about Google Penguin and how it could affect my websites. I just found the page below and an interesting free report about it: http://www.portent.com/blog/seo/

Thanks for this post. Like you said it is all in the content. That is working. :)

You are absolutely correct in saying that "those who create quality content will not be negatively affected".

The issue with back links and acquiring links from other websites is that it's a VERY old technique that Google now can penalize you for. All those back linking scam sites, or services where you can buy 1000's of backlinks...these are all practices that will not help you one bit with getting ranked.

When it comes to links: Link to your site from other QUALITY and RELEVANT content. If you're expecting something magical to happen by dropping your link in a comment on random blogs out there, then you're in for a shock and most likely a slap from Google Penguin or Panda.

If you want a back link so that your site gains some entry points for Search Engine Spiders, then make sure the content you link to your site from is highly relevant and quality.

For example, linking from an article you write that is quality, and offers relevant content to your website. This is an example of a good back link.

The main thing to remember is that writing with the intention of helping people is what you want to focus on. Don't write to sell people something, write to teach them something or provide them with helpful info.

In response linking.. you simply need to link to your site from quality and relevant content only.

Hi there, Once in a while I browse through a site like Springwise.com for inspiration. Springwise lists innovative business ideas from all over the world. I read the article bel

My sister and daughter belong to a food co-op. They pay a subscription fee and each week during the growing season are provided with the fresh local produce. Each week something is provided. They don't get to choose the produce but are provided with what is available. Sometimes the veggie choices are great, others not so much, I does help them to vary their food and can lead to some pretty creative cooking especially during the fall when the root vegetables come in. This year the heirloom tomatoes were awesome and plentiful.

Thanks Labman, that's another nice idea in the fresh produce domain, especially for people who like surprises and/or who are adventurous cooks :-)

Great site and super idea as well. Haven't done anything along theses lines but can certainly see the potential,
Regards
Hudson.

Glad you also like the site! I'm eager to do something with the idea, but for now I should focus on building my first authority site. Plenty of work to do :-)

You could definitely act as a liason between a group of customers and a local company.

One thing that is a static and will always be, local companies are ALWAYS looking for more business and are willing to pay for it. Whether it is you getting them premier rankings in the search results, optimizing their Google + Local profile, managing their social campaigns, or brokering them deals that lead to more business, you are offering value in which they are willing to pay.

I like the way you are thinking and I have come across SpringWise.com a few times through more journeys on the web, it is a cool site with a lot of awesome ideas.

Thanks Kyle!
